Some of you may recall the recent issues I (and others) was having with uPlay and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon.

Well I beat the game once the servers were back up, and only the first uPlay Action triggered for uPlay redeemable points. Awesome... So I just got done beating the game a second time and while the rewards triggered during gameplay (it popped up and everything) my account only reflects the achievements but not the uPlay action rewards.

This is beyond frustrating. No way I'm beating it a third time in a row just for 45 points...

Contact their support. They aren't Steam, so chances are they'll respond and maybe even help you

To be fair here, if they had as many users as Steam does I bet it would take them just as long to respond. To me that is likely the only reason why it is faster.

Not really, no. Steam just doesn't care. Read the SSA. You're not even considered a customer by them, and most certainly you don't have any rights (you "waive" them "as soon as you click the Purchase button").

If that is so then why do you get games on Steam (instead of DRM-free or otherwise) or why are you even here for that matter? =P

4 reasons.

a) many games I love are Steamworks. Doesn't matter where I get them (usually I get boxed copies), I have to activate them on Steam. If there's an alternative, I will take it. Most of the time.
b) who says no to a chance to win free games? I just won two during the last hour...
c) I'm an European. When worst comes, I can try my chances in court. SSA doesn't really apply here (it's the EU law)
d) I used to be a Steam fanboy when I was younger. So I'm stuck on Steam pretty much because my library is literally being held hostage

Anyone who purchases something is a customer. It's in the definition.

Not to Steam :D read the SSA. They treat you like you're not even a person. You literally have no rights if SSA applies in your country.

Steam responds. Just they do slowly because of the huge amount of users.

If they're going to take their time they could actually help, but most of what users get are automated responses wich mostly don't do anything.

5 years and counting on my tickets. 65% of tickets never get a response, the rest get a bot response. The amount of times I know someone got a response from a human is.... zero. There weren't any in the BBB research

For what it's worth that has not been my experience. Of the times that I have gotten a 'canned' response, I have always gotten a human reply by following up. Yes, it is slow, but they do help if you know how to talk to people.

I only need help 3 times. 3/4 days delay and a good human response.

Maybe I'm a lucky guy, or maybe you don't do the correct questions. I don't know. :/

Make duplicate tickets every few days or weeks, I wouldn't wait months or even years.

I solved the problems myself. The most horrifying thing is that EA has better support. Every single case I had was solved (in my favour) under 30 minutes, even when they didn't have to.

+1 Steam sucks. 'Tis why I've never paid money for a steam game.

So... how you explain your giveaways? Your 163 games?

GA's were traded for. Games on steam were won, traded for, or given by friends. Some games and GA's were bought on gamersgate and then after a few months i received a free steam key for out of the blue.

About 10% of my PC games are actually on steam. The rest are on disc, on GoG, Gamersgate, in my email, on Origin, Uplay, Desura, etc.

163 games + 22 giveaways!? Still sounds incredible to me. Well, lucky you.

Have I really made 22 giveaways? Dang I thought it was more like 10 by now. But yeah that's pretty much how its gone. If I bought games I wanted that were steam-exclusive I'd have ArmA 3 by now =P. One of my friends says hes gonna buy that for me soon too though. So maybe I am lucky.

,, Because you didn't ask our help means you solved the problem and we close the ticket"
Best service ever.

Are you aware that u play often won't update to reflect new totals until exiting the game. May not be the issue here but there's been a few times I've been trying to work out what I need only to find I've already done it.

I've quit the game, restarted the client several times, synchronized the save files... still won't trigger them. :/

mm I remember having such a problem with uplay and i remember it was because it switched to offline mode. Once I switched it back to online, everything was okeys. And thinks I was having the same problem with FarCry 3.

And speaking about steam support, they are not badd. Just uber slowwwww. during my 2 occurrences with them, they were both pretty nice and one one occasion they let me keep a free game that was given to me by a scammer. That game was bought with a fraudulent credit card and was given to me, and i never activated it. Once i found out aboutt that scammerr, i contacted support [took about 2 weeks] they gave me my game back that was scammed and even let me keep bad one.

I used to know a guy that thought Origin was the Devil, but he was Wrong! Origin is just EA's way of milking the most out of it's customers, Uplay on the other Hand, Now it is the Devil!
I download all my games with Steam, but with Obisoft games, it's like they want my BLOOD!
I'm "Forced" to run a SECOND DRM in order to play my AssCreed games T.T
OH WHY GOD HAVE YOU FORSAKEN US!!!

Because Ubisoft is from Europe.

All of your problems stem from having the game on Steam and using a double client. If you just had it on UPlay, like Ubi games are supposed to be played, you'd have no issues. This is why i can't for the love of me, understand why anyone would ever buy an Ubisoft game on Steam. Except for the ones that don't need a double client like Cal of Juarez Gunslinger or South park The Stick of Truth

Conidering Ubisoft is the one selling their games on Steam with a double client setup, it's up to them to make sure it's working correctly. Either get uPlay to work right or get rid of it.

They're greedy bastards. By still selling their games on Steam they insure they won't lose a hefty part of the market. But they still want to promote their own client. That's why they came up with this horrible strategy. Still, one has the option of buying the games on UPlay and running them with one client. I see no conceivable reason to ever do otherwise.
