What do you guys think?
I was kind of excited because of Telltale and all, but man... This is looking bad facepalm

It really is XD I don't blame the people worried about this. That's money that could be going to making an awesome TWDS3 game. Or another part to the wolf among us. Then there's Tales from the Borderlands which I hear turned out good. But minecraft. Why XD I'll admit. If they pull this off. Telltale games is gettin' some huge respect from me.

Yeah when it was announced I was happily to back Telltale. Now I'm not too sure. I mean it is just only a trailer and all... If it's on sale or its bundled I may try it out. For now I agree with you, their budget could have been put into a current game, I need to start TWD season 2 but I would love a season 3!

Clem's character development in season 2 yo. Dayum. Also her voice. Like. It's a voice that just says "I've seen some shit." Trust me. Listen to her voice from the walking dead season 1. Then once you get a bit into season 2. Just compare the voices and you'll see xD (well. Hear. Whatever.)

I just want another season of TWD and The Wolf Among Us

I'm sure they'll at least bring us another season of Walking Dead. Not sure about Wolf though, they didn't leave quite as open of an ending as they left with Walking Dead Seasons 1 and 2.

I never liked Borderlands, but Tales from the Borderlands by TTG is awesome. Maybe same will be here.

I also thought that a TT Borderlands game is weird, but it worked out I guess? I COULD play it backlogbacklobacklog
I'm confidedent that they'll pull this off, if not , well... at least they've tried.
Oh I remember something! gamezone.com

I'll just say this. TellTale made one of the most glorious gaming moments i've seen in my life, in their borderlands game. I'll just say that. It was wonderful. And if someone cannot appreciate the moment I have in mind. They have no sense of humor. Whatsoever.

Please ... Fringe would be a much better choice than any of those (except for maybe Indiana Jones and Doctor Who). :P

Refer to my above comment. :P
(However, I've never seen any of those TV shows, so I can't judge that list as well, but I hear Twin Peaks is amazing, so maybe that one.)

I haven't seen Fringe, but if it's better than the X-File (ungh) then I should probably give it a try . MYSTERY.
I've seen quiet a lot of these. And yes everyone should check out Twin Peaks (and then play Deadly Premonition :> )
I'd go with Battlestar Galactica and would probably even PREORDER that TT game.
Let me think of another franchise........
or a combination of Lobo comics and Sakura franchise. Yes that`'s probably it.

Aside from some of the voice acting in the trailer. I think it looks interesting. Adding a story to a game that's not meant to have a story might not be the wisest idea. But it's Telltale, they're one of my favorite companies and generally very good at writing stories. So I'm sure they'll do just fine.

Maybe they just chose the worst snippets of voice acting in the game on purpose! xD

I'll be waiting.
Also, they're a pretty sensible company. I'm sure they wouldn't have accepted the project if they didn't think they could do it fairly well (nowadays at least). They've also proven that they can make their own stories in worlds made by other people. So I have confidence that they can produce something worth playing (at least for Minecraft players).

I'm pretty sure that's how the business works. They get approached by companies who hold the copyrights, and get contracted to make games on their properties, right? Notch has the spare cash to throw down for a telltale series, and while it doesn't give them much base material to work with, it will however give TT more funds that they may eventually use on creating their own franchise.
Besides, it might help pull some of the younger generation out of their minecraft phase by helping them appreciate these cinematic adventure-lites.

It's not April, this is serious, Isn't it?
It has nice voice acting, and it's Telltale so i trust them, but I really don't feel good about this project. Please, Telltale, prove me wrong.

I probably saw something about it and then immediatly avoided the information because it's about minecraft. I don't get why everyone's trying to sell minecraft as a narrative. Are they still making the minecraft movie?

I'm surprised this game is listed to come out on the WiiU.

Looks not bad, but for cheap price, too many haters.
I dislike how their mouths move when they talk, in other Minecraft 3D animation videos they make it a way better, also I like this comment someone made there:
"uses cobble to make sword
gets iron sword
The irony"
edit: another funny comment there
"I wish Hitler was still alive."
lol so many haters.

I liked watching videos in YouTube like this or songs made in that 3D program for Minecraft animations, so for a cheap price will be worth getting that game.
But this game is not producing any hype, like Tales from Borderlands did for example, or others, so it's nothing more than interesting, but I'm pretty sure game won't be bad at least.

Telltale have a real way with stories, but there is only so much you can do when given certain base material to work with.
You know what? I don't care. Telltale have already given us some incredible series, let them have this one cash-cow moment. The funds they'll glean from the younger gamers will be used to push forward other projects, and it might help lift those people out from their minecraft fixation and into broader gaming horizons. Shame it has that entire c-list pixar story feel. You know, like Lego Movie or Cars, where they have to struggle so very hard to make the story relevant or have any impact. Maybe they should have gone for Five Nights at Freddies? Heh. :P
Besides, if they're doing Minecraft, that does mean there are hopes for our own wanted but unlikely Telltale series.
Dr. Who. Alien. A straight-up TF2 TellTale series would rock, and Valve has the kind of raw money to throw down for it if they were interested.
The next LISA title would be perfect if they could creatively censor and dodge certain subject matter, haha.
WAIT, NO. Holy shit!
An official SCP-Foundation telltale game, or better yet, a Welcome To Nightvale telltale series.
Nooooo, my inner fanboy is trying to level up~
If you don't know what either of those are, I wholeheartedly recommend googling them.

So much this. Excellent way of looking at it.

Then the game forces the opposite person to go in, because the rest of the crew breaks out into an argument and pushes them at gunpoint. Then it turns out to be a false alarm and was just the ship's cat, but the argument (and your choice) have had a lasting effect on the crew's relationships and morale.
Then just as you think the scene is over and the crew are dispersing, you see a an already-dead facehugger curled up on it's back all spiderlike, meaning someone was already facehugged but nobody knows who (and the victim may not know, if they were attacked while laid in bed or assumed to have nodded off).
:D

I'm actually a bit excited for this. I hope it comes to Steam.
The overall design and the builds of the in-game locations look pretty great. I'll probably grab it when it's discounted a bit and give it a shot.
I need to finish up the other TTG games first...I've started nearly all of them but haven't finished any ._.

What about the option "i would play it if i win it at a giveaway" ?

idk, i thought it looked fun. like troll 2 kind of fun. the badness is an enhancing factor.

Reminds me of the old Minecraft adventure series Yogscast made a while back (Just more 3D). "Shadow of Israphel" was the name.
I always wanted to have some kind of a story mode for Minecraft, and satisfied with the above mentioned series until they never finished it...
So I like this and think it's interesting! It might turn out to be good! The voice acting is a bit over the top, but I think that's to add to the comedy effect? It's been a while since Telltale made anything slightly humoristic last thing I remember was a good comedy game from them was Sam & Max so maybe they forgot how to add that good comedy feel + mixed with adventure hahaha. Hope they do good on this.

i don't think the trailer looks too bad, actually. i don't like minecraft, so my interest in the game is not that big. but if anyone can get me to "play minecraft", it's telltale. ;)

i tried to play jurassic park two times, but i just couldn't finish it. it was just so mediocre in every way. love everything after that (and quite a lot before that), but jurassic park - sorry, no. ^^
Comment has been collapsed.
exactly, the QTEs were really bad. they figured out how to do it in Walking Dead S01. the QTEs there felt really like they were connected to what you see on the screen. not so in Jurassic Park.

Iunno. I mean this is TellTale we're talking about. Story-writing is their specialty. Maybe they'll make something good. I'm assuming it's going to be directed at younger audiences. So I suppose it's story is going to be a little generic or simple. Still I suppose I think TellTale may be able to make it work. We'll see.

I like minecraft and love telltale. But I don't think the two go together. Minecraft has no story so basically there just using minecraft for the graphics style.
That being said I will probably pick it up at some point. Probably when it goes on sale or something. I love telltale too much to just ditch their title.
Comment has been collapsed.
I think Minecraft's total lack of story gives Telltale a good opportunity and freedom in writing the story without being bound by existing universe lore.
Even if the story doesn't end up being good, I hope it sells a lot to give Telltale a lot of funds for future games or acquiring rights for an interesting franchises/opens them the doors to rightholders that wouldn't consider such a cooperation before.
