Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone. I was wondering if I could receive a bit of assistance from the community. Things have been feeling pretty stale lately, and I was hoping to liven everything up with some more music. Mainly because I pretty much got my earphones in all day, or the player on all the time. My absolute favorite genres are shoegaze and dream pop, but I’ll listen to most anything that isn’t just noise (that’s not to say I don’t love ambient and noise rock/pop). So please recommend me some of the most worthwhile music you’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to in your life. From any time period and in any language is fine. Just give me something I may never have found on my own.

And speaking of music, I was also hoping you could help me help a very dear friend of mine. He’s got a band called Prontic, with which he mostly makes alternative/indie rock music. They don’t have a whole lot uploaded yet, but please check out their Soundcloud (https://soundcloud.com/user-660596031) and Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/artist/6XySwXSIeZtWoxJ98UkNZR), and if you like what you hear, spread the word to family and friends and the internet. I’m really looking forward to hear what they’ll come up with in the future. Encourage them, and help them get to where they can be. Thanks for the support. (:

{Just added a bunch of some of my most favorite songs, meant to recommend them to everyone in the beginning, but was busy all week. ALSO, MY FRIEND UPLOADED MORE SONGS ON THE SPOTIFY, PLEASE CHECK THEM OUT. c:}

And thank you for your time and the cyberspace. Looking forward to any and all recommendations I’ll be lucky enough to get.

Hope you like anime. {ENDED}

A lot of this is pretty out there, need more of this in my life
I think Waterfall is beautiful, reminds me of There She Goes, a personal favorite of mine :)
And I just want to float away in to little fluffy clouds forever, honestly..

I was mostly back into metal back then but I was really impressed by live Orb shows that I saw at festivals - live versions of Little Fluffy Clouds are well worth checking out!

There She Goes is great - most people think of Fool's Gold and the like when they think of the Stone Roses, but Waterfall was always my favourite!

A few more;

Pop Will Eat Itself - Def Con One
Carter USM – The Only Living Boy in New Cross
Blur - Tender
Type O Negative - My Girlfriend's Girlfriend
Muse - Knights Of Cydonia
Terrorvision - Tequilla
Shakespeare's Sister - Stay
Catatonia - Road Rage
Manic Street Preachers - If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next
Travis - Sing

Sadly can't check out your playlist from the US ;-;
But I'll be sure to check out one of them this upcoming weekend, Kimi no Na Wa looks particularly stunning
If you haven't seen The Garden of Words, it's just a very sweet and pleasant film (:

That's weird, I tried using US VPN and still able to view the playlist.
Here's the list of some songs I like in the playlist:
1) Nishino Kana - Missing You
2) Bright - 大丈夫。 (Daijoubu.)
3) Bright - Ichinen Nikagetsu Hatsuka
4) Yuna Ito - Alone Again
5) Cliff Edge feat.jya-me - Sayonara I Love You

The only Makoto Shinkai's work other than this Kimi no Na Wa is 5cm per second. I'll try all of his works as I have some free time.

Some fact: Kimi no Na Wa actually ranked 1 here in Box Office in Thailand

I'm planning to watch again second time in Theater in a few day. XD

Well, I listed a bunch of awesome video game soundtracks I like here... but since you're asking for "not just noise" I don't know if soundtracks, most of which are without any lyrics, would count as music to you or as "noise". Check them out anyway, you might still like them. :P
I guess the one that is most likely to interest you (I mean, it's probably not shoegaze and dream pop, whatever those are, but it has lots of lyrics) is the last one I mentioned since it's not a game soundtrack- the judge is undecided on whether RWBY is an anime or not (check it out, btw), but it has a pretty nice soundtrack. :D

Funny, I'm currently listening to animated movie soundtracks.
Here are some of my favourites right now:

Meghan Trainor - Better When I'm Dancin'
Owl City - When Can I See You Again?
Fall out Boys: Immortals
Shakira - Try Everything

Looks like your knowledge of music is waay larger than mine :), but I can suggest something from my years of listening almost exclusively to metal, don't know if it can be up your alley but chances are that at least this is unknown material to you :)

Anathema- Eternity (Pt 1)
Anathema - Alternative 4
Fantastic band which evolved from the most brutal doom metal to alternative rock, starting from "The Silent Enigma" album they were top quality. First song is powerful, second is one of the most chilling pieces of music I've ever heard

My Dying Bride - Into the Lake of Ghosts
My Dying Bride - My Body, A Funeral
Imho THE doom metal band, over 20 years of excellent works, first song is more "approachable", second has their lovely violin and more diverse vocals and tempos.

Death - Scavenger Of Human Sorrow
From a fantastic album, dedicated to those who say that extreme metal songs "are the same riff all the time" :)

And now something more mainstream:

Slipknot - Snuff
The sweet side of Slipknot :))

Warrel Dane - Brother
One of my favourite metal singers, most known for his work with Nevermore, from his solo album.

System Of A Down - Soldier Side
Let's cap off with my favourite band, I could have chosen the likes of Chop Suey or Toxicity, but you probably know them, to me this is same quality ;)

Ohhh, Nowhere, I was really hoping to get some metal recommendations
Mostly into black metal myself, a lot Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir (you should check them outtt)
Dying Bride's sounding pretty dope

And MDB's singer can do some pretty great growl vocals too!
I used to listen to some black metal when I was younger, with CoF and Dimmu Borgir you already are with the best imho :), wouldn't recommend much else (maybe Emperor). Now that I think of it, as in your OP you talked about 'any language', there's a german black metal band, Eisregen, with german lyrics. They are nowhere near as technical as Dimmu Borgir , but they have decent songwriting which coupled with the 'unusual' language sound makes them interesting. Eisregen - Schwarze Rose is my favourite from them.

I can recommend these 2 songs from a not-so-popular band:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abAgL_PKD08
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOzJTCHyAbA
This acoustic cover that I'm learning to play on the guitar:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBqrNRk0EgM
But as for my most favorite song of all time it would be this one:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iJyg02vvLg
I've been listening to it for 6 years now, never got tired of it.
I don't know how to put text links, sorry about that D:

In case you don't like any of these, here's a banana slipping on a man: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKn0HddzuWM
