Looks like Amazon made a small mistake with the publisher of this game, what do you think? Notice anything strange? If not, I think you may need a little gaming history review ;)

EDIT: Seems like I was a little misinformed, I did know about EA having a part in the publishing of The Orange Box, though I find it strange that the name listed for every Half-Life listings is either EA or Vivendi Universal. It just makes more sense to list the company that owns the rights to the game rather than just the distributors :)

I don't. EA distributed several boxed copies of HL1, the Orange Box and that. So that must be the reason tha's there.

The funny part is that the Orange Box has two listed publishers :c I still think they made a mistake and key'd in two different entries for the same (physical) product.

No, EA was indeed the publisher. (They took over after Sierra was closed)

indeed, the times when valve/sierra had little money for marketing, advertising, etc.

also yeah the orange box is also published by EA.

Oh gaben, when hats came out you just literllay do what you want, like trolling the dota 2 community and had me to re-install tf2 because of a localization bug...

Man, I remember Sierra. They used to be the good game company. So weird that they're basically gone now...

Interesting to read the bad reviews on the product that seem to echo our views on DRM today.

"This version has steam, If you buy it will only last a few years. Steam will be gone and your game is toast."

I remember this back in the day. So funny. :D

"I can't believe valve is doing this stupid Steam program!!! I have just spent hours trying to find my CD Key since I lost the box! I paid good money for this game and I can't even play it?! Come on!"

Steam is just the most stupid thing since AOL stopped distributing their free promotional coasters. Thanks to our new kitten "Abaddon", my game CD is covered in claw-marks and the publisher refuses to send me out a replacement. What gives?

I think you should ask for a replacement kitten as well. It seems to be malfunctioning

To be fair I hated Steam back in the day, made me stop playing Half-Life online, was a TERRIBLE program.

Origin as a program is perfectly fine and runs much smoother than Steam. The only problems are EA, the lack of community features, and EA
