But... there is like no requirement to know English. Except ToS, which explicitly says that English version of ToS, Privacy Policy and Guidelines are to prevail under all the other translations. Are there even a single translation?

I was sure it had seen it written somewhere (I'm convinced I came across an official statement somewhere in the time I had spend here, but please don't ask me when and where) that the official language for Steamgifts is English.
At least that's the reason why all the already available translations for the FAQ and Guidelines into several languages including Russian, German, French and Spanish were not included in SGv2. I think Russian is back in the meanwhile, why, I don't know.
But even if you were right, would you really want everybody to speak their own language? I can't even read the letters from what our russian friend up there has written. We're such an internationaly community here - this would totally break apart if everybody would be allowed to write in their own gibberish. Heck, being a German I even talk English in here to other Germans.

But I don't see problem in speaking all other languages. From time to time I stumble upon spanish/italian/german text written by users. It's their choice, their freedom. And it give spice to communication, just don't overshoot the mark cause it would be too spicy. =:) If you start speaking German now, I'll just grab my old Deutch Schritte Lerhbuch and start translating it veeeery slowly. =;-Ъ
Well, I do prefer to speak English too except when I'm making GRAET COMUNNISM joke. And one of the reasons is that Russian speaking people make bad expression when we speak Russian. So I feel sad when people judge us only by language. But I guess we earned it.
