I dont think this justifies as calling out, though i have 80ga´s going on, and would like to deliver the keys

Beating someone is like Pringles: Once you pop, you can't stop.

I thought about making a thread. This definitely is an all-time low.
Fuck that shit. Seriously.
There needs to be a statement on all this.
It's not the first time people have been treated lightly for what they've done.
This just proves it. Keep the traffic coming, no matter what.

Long story short a "developer" who broke multiple rules was suspended and immediately excused for his wrong doings
Comment has been collapsed.
That's not the worst. Had someone do pages of bigotry and harassment and lies and everything else, get permanent suspended, and was back less than 3 days later, continuing to spam bigotry.
Nevermind the tons of trolls, scammers, bigots, etc, that don't get any rebuke at all.
So, questions to the staff's morality in general aside, I gotta wonder at what kinda bribes are being thrown about for some of those suspension removals/avoidances, because as absurd as that seems, it's the only assumption I've got at this point.
That or they just randomly throw darts to see who gets suspended and who gets unsuspended :P
Of course, in this particular case, they may just not have seen the most recent issue yet- though given their permissiveness in the past, not only towards worse people, but to this person in particular, that seems a rather hopeful belief to hold.

You should make a support ticket with the links to the pages. I'm curious what their response will be.
Comment has been collapsed.
You're referring to a famous scumthrower/begger/scammer on the forums, and, like all the worst people on the forums, the staff supports and encourages him.
It's never easy to afford SG staff respect with their approach to these things.
Then again, Groupees is the same way, which is why I no longer respect them at all, either :/
Flip side, neither site has suspended me for getting on to them about their behavior, either, so that's a point in their favor.

Maybe a community vote system should be implemented.

And still are, because that thread is still open and kicking.
What these people will get is a charlatan that will enter their giveaways, to win and probably sell those games, and as a reward his going to ask them to spam their friends on steam
Comment has been collapsed.
No, but i know who he is, and have been invited by random people on my friend list to his group.
Following the lead i noticed he asked everyone to invite ALL friends

Same here. Saw the thread yesterday and I was wondering "what the hell is going on here?" I was surprised to see that many people were actually whitelisting him. I don't understand why a Developer needs a whitelist on the first place. I mean, don't they give away games here to promote their games. So wouldn't it defeat the purpose if you make your giveaway visible to a small section alone?
I'm kinda sad now that I didn't hang around to see the drama unfold. I'm quite sure it would have been entertaining. :D
Comment has been collapsed.
Glad I'm active and read, I didn't know him so I went ahead and whitelisted him, well he is going to be the first person I blacklist now.
Comment has been collapsed.
Better not to post links to threads and profiles, it's him and what he represents that i want out of the site
Comment has been collapsed.
Best case scenario, because he has a giveaway ending soon
But i've been here long enough to see some of these people getting excuse of breaking the rules, so i wouldn't count on it
Comment has been collapsed.
He did activate a copy for beyond good and evil, so you might be right except all of these giveaways are from october
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I was thinking this too. I got angry for a moment and then I remembered who are Mods are. They have to have a reason behind this and I'm sure they will share it with us. Or I hope so anyways.

What if this is like a test? A developer wouldn't do such a thing right? blatantly break rules just for the sake of it... RIGHT1?
Comment has been collapsed.
Sorry but no.
there are multiple developers that proven otherwise, DH being on of them, and a Duck whos name i shall not mention.
this people are unbannable

apparently Fuc... I mean Duck didn't break SG rules - all his shady business was done outsode of SG. On the other hand our whitelister have not only broken SG rules (fake GA - 31 invalid keys, non-activation) but also ran his shady business via SG (for example setting up his tremor-reflink farm using SG GAs), so I don't see why he got punished for non-activations only...

idk if fraudalent way of obtaining a key is or is not against the rules (and again - how do you check actually how the key was obtained unless you're Valve or developer/publisher for the mentioned game?). Problem may still be that from the legal point of view we cannot dsay the keys he gave away were aquired via frqaud. We can only suspect this, we may believe this (I do), but we cannot prove this with data we have. We have proofs that he tried to blackmail devs and failed. But from these devs he didn't get any keys. He may say that all keys he actually got he got legit and while we don't believe it, we have no way of proving him otherwise. Unless some of the devs who gave him keys comes out and admits "yes, keys Duck got for this GA he blackmailed out of us" - there is no proof any of these keys were fraudalently aquired. And I doubt any dev will come out and publicly admit to either falling to someones blackmail or into buying fake positve reviews for keys.

A certain someone.. I have no idea who.. found themselves kicked from a certain group recently for breaking even more rules that I know absolutely nothing about.
On this certain somebodies Steam profile you can find a conversation starting on pages 9-7 that took place recently that tried to help them understand the importance of such rules, yet this person who I cannot name repeatedly broke the rules after being given a second chance. This only goes to show and strengthens the fact that this certain someone is a complete cunt. Am I allowed to say the word cunt? if not then I will edit that word to something less appropriated.

You know what's the most ironic tho? The guy who called him out is stil suspended.
Comment has been collapsed.
Support said it themselves multiple times, it was so it wouldn't start a witch hunt
He gave proof...this just gets sadder and sadder
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm not sure who you're talking about. The person I thought it was and I checked has no multiple wins, nor non-activated gifts.
But what's the problem with exchanging whitelist? Aren't people supposed to do whatever they want with their whitelist (and blacklist for that matter)?
EDIT: SGTools was acting up. Now it's showing multiple non-activated gifts, but no multiple wins. So, yeah, I guess it's still bad for people to call out, but I think we deserve some explanation from staff as to why the person wasn't properly punished.
Yet, I still stand to my point that the "whitelist 4 whitelist" thread is not a problem itself!
Comment has been collapsed.
The problem is he's a known scammer (perhaps the biggest on all of SG), doing an 'event' where he's trying to scam his way into people's whitelists, while not intending to give anything but more scamming in return.
There may or may not be concerns with the event itself, but there's no way we're going to get a proper sentiment from the community when someone so disdained is hosting it :P

Staff here is.. notorious.
What's happening here isn't someone trying to avoid rules, but people snapping out after months, years, of staff doing things in a manner many members (most?) find highly disagreeable.
It's more a boiling point outburst trying to affect reasonable change from the staff, than it is calling out the specific person in question.
[At least, that's how most of us who have had similar staff issues are interpreting it, I think :) ]
Comment has been collapsed.
The person i mentioned did activate at least 2 games since he got suspended, but still multiple games left to activate
Also, there are multiple reasons, in fact he was briefly suspended, supposedly for two months. couldn't be a small thing.
Think about this, if you had multiple games left to activate, do you think support would cut your suspension short without you at least activating all gifts?
Comment has been collapsed.
I totally agree with you on that issue. I edited my post, maybe you didn't catch it before I did. SGTools wasn't showing the correct info. I think we deserve an explanation from staff... That behavior is unnacceptable, especially from somebody who have some "status" here (developer).
Comment has been collapsed.
I agree there is nothing wrong with the thread albeit it's a bit pointless. It defeats the entire purpose of a whitelist. Might as well have open, no level GAs.
Comment has been collapsed.
Indeed. I really don't see the point of a developer needing a whitelist.

There are still unactivated wins on his account though, from this month.

Didn't knew this was against the rules.
And even after seeing a member like him creating that thread...
Deleted my comment at his post.
I thought it was just a way for him to organize his next giveaways or something like that.
Comment has been collapsed.
That's not the problem
I pointed it out because he is trying to use you by showing is developer tag, he actually wants you to spam people about his group
Also if you make a whitelist GA there is a chance he want activate your key in case he wins
Comment has been collapsed.
Yep, he didn't broke SG rules as far as I know, he just wiped his ass with the steam community ones, I think.

Well I was trying to think of the worst thing I had seen here on SG for this thread: http://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/BptXj/what-is-the-worst-attitude-that-a-certain-sg-user-has-shown-to-you-mandatory-ga-inside I guess I just found it. You're right that is pretty low. He got suspended and unsuspended so fast I didn't even had time to see it and now weirdly all the games are activated.
Comment has been collapsed.
/mods, /support we used to write in a gaming forum back in 2010 when we wanted the mods to get notified about a discussion going off limits.
I'd like to humbly ask the mods to close this thread as SG will start flaming yet again.
@OP, you are not ok and this isn't the first time you are flaming :/
Comment has been collapsed.
It is an unfair case, hence people are seeking a somewhat reasonable explanation.
The guy may have tried to finally activate his wins, but even then he still has, I believe, 9 that are not activated. As per Steamgifts rules, he still should be serving a ban right this moment.
Comment has been collapsed.
encouraging spamming, not activating gifts, not delivering multiple gifts
this is the part that matters
Ive said it before in this thread, Whitelist4Whitelist should have been closed because of his intentions with it
Comment has been collapsed.
I think this is the first and only time i was flaming.
Unless you are referring to my Digital Homicide thread

i see it as no different thing as trading reps here, and unless im mistaken, trading reps isnt allowed either.
but yeah even if its not against rules per se, its definitely a bit odd to see a huge topic with Trading whitelist for whitelist name... i just hope it doesnt become a norm.
im also a bit disappointed tbh, knowing how many white kinghts can get at one newbies back for one mistake, yet so many people are willing to look the other way just to get into a few whitelists. No i dont really care who does what with their wl/bl, im just disappointed and a bit surprised that thread ended up being so huge :/
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah as i already mentioned i dont think i should tell anyone what to do with their wl/bl, thats entirely personal :) I just thought its a bit odd how such a topic become so huge overnight, thats all :P
Its not that bad though as that very topic helped me build my own whitelist, so in a way it was also very useful one too :)

Today i learned an important lesson
After seeing a so called developer, being forgiven of breaking multiple rules.
Still has the honor of parading with his developer tag around, even though he has proven to misuse it, misleading people with it.
Still has the honor of having is whitelist 4 whitelist thread open
encouraging spamming, not activating gifts, not delivering multiple gifts...forgiven
While the normal user, that contributes to this site without asking anything in return gets banned for the dumbest shit.
Thats how low our status is around here
Welcome to Steamgifts
