Oh man... I bought Hatoful Boyfriend not that long ago, for the future... ummm... event.
Either way, it's a really fun game. Definitely worth $1, especially if you're willing to uncover the whole plot.

Valentine's bundle in October, okay...
Though tier one is worthy if only for Hatoful Boyfriend. Behind the " HAHA, they are birds and they are talking" content is a fantastic story, which can be unlocked by reaching a few specific endings. It was really, really good, and this comes from someone who previously greatly disappointed in the visual novel genre. (that damned Cinders... -.-' )

I planned to give it another try - when one doesn't have enough patience to read through all the stuff it's hard to be objective. Hatoful also took me days to complete in smaller sessions (2-3 endings with guide, I just wanted the story) :) Ciders felt...forced. Like really :\

I've heard good things about Hatoful Boyfriend, so I'm definitely getting the first tier. Not sure what to think of The Royal Trap, which was made by Hanako (Long Live the Queen), it has good reviews. If the BTA drops around $3 I might get that as well.

If you enjoy a VN (with a bit of grinding for experience) it was a great game, I played the original one and liked it a lot. Quite a bit of fighting, Ok if maybe a bit cliche' story.
