UPDATE:

Are you wondering where your Steam keys are for your android module?

User Patrickmaher has said the following:

It seems they are having trouble with the automatic issuing of Steam keys for the Android module. It looks like they are manually adding it for people that contact them. http://gmc.yoyogames.com/index.php?showtopic=676828
It also appears that only GMS Pro and Mac OS X DLC are being added when you activate the Steam key for Pro. The Ubuntu DLC should be included but it is not activating.
I suspect it will be awhile before they get the Android and Ubuntu keys working in the recovery email. So if you want it you will have to ask them to manually add the keys for you.

Higher tiers provide source code of the games in lower tiers? That's just plain weird bundle

Comment has been collapsed.

People interested in developing games with Game Maker would be more interested in the source codes then in the actual games. They can examine the source codes and see how those games were made and learn a lot.

That means this bundle is geared more towards developer wannabes then just gamers.

I agree, it's an interesting feature. I don't remember seeing any other bundle (or any other steam game for that matter) that came with source code. I just didn't expect it :)

Hacker Evolution and Blast Em! (on Steam)

I've seen such things before, but not often. Most companies are pretty secretive with their source.

For me, it's nice to see it return to Humble -- I regret missing the very first Humble Bundle that came with the source code for the majority of the games.

This weekly is very good. I have GM Studio Professional that cost 24$. So this, with games and code is excellent.

Stupid question, but is the source code in form of a gamemarker project or <something else>?

At least the two source codes from the free games are game maker datas,

Do you monitor a bundle-listing page? Or keep track of each of these bundle-pages?

I sign up for newsletters, am part of the bundle steam groups, check Reddit, check individual sites, hmm... I also use epicbundle, but very rarely....

It's hard for me to list all of the things and recommend a source I use because most of what I know is my intuition telling me that bundles are up, and if I miss any, I have helpful friends who message me about new bundles. I have some idea of what times/days each bundle site will post a new bundle. >_< plus I am an obsessive bundle checker lol.

Thank you :)

I'd like to know the same thing. Does not say that it is a steam key so probably you won't get a steam copy.

It's a license, not bound to any platform.

Wonder why don't they give you steam keys for GM Pro and GM Android Exporter because they're available on steam.

I've been interested in GM for quite some time now, wish I had credit card or paypal so i can buy this bundle. Doubt I'll find any traders willing to trade their keys for a reasonable price.

I'm not sure if you figured it out after the fact but you redeem the GM Pro and Android Export keys through GM's website and then can get a Steam key in 14 days.

I don't understand why you would want to be bound to Steam on this kind of tool, though. Sounds pretty inconvenient to say the least.

I would love to have the option of having it on Steam too (I mean Steam key+non-Steam version)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

But you would use it on Steam in this case, having the non Steam version? Why?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, if I want to share some of my progress with my Steam friends I could upload screenshots on Steam. It also has achievements (if you care about them). But the most important thing imo is that if you use it on Steam, it tracks your playtime, so you can easily see how long it takes you to make your game :)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Achievements for non-games? Really? Didn't know that... I wonder what they are, lol... Ok, I think the pros that you mention don't require Steam as they can be achieved in a different way. In my opinion, the cons outweigh the pros... But ok... :P

i have the macOS export module on steam (there was a price error some time ago, so i got it for 5€ or something). i doubt i can transfer that to the non-steam version. so in order to use it, i need to use the steam version. so while i will probably use the non-steam version most of the time, it makes sense to also get steam keys, so i have my full package available in one place.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I see... That's a very specific situation, though. Anyway, I guess there are reasons as to why people would want to have it on Steam, after all. :P

Easy to use and centralized management. All within one window. In fact, it is pretty convenient.

Permalink

I don't understand what you mean. Why would the interface be different on Steam?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

We all know it's about getting that +1 "game" into library. But please, leave the production value software decentralized, as there are people who actually use it far beyond trading cards farming.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Whether centralized or not, it's up to the users. And in this Gamemaker's case, you have standalone installer. Both cases are covered.

I personally prefer my software/games to be in one place.

Mh... That would be worth a try, I guess! :)
I also saw Point n Click DK lately with which you can easily make a point n click game, so this would be worth trying out as well imo. :)
But first I want to get better at making pixelated backdrops and such, before thinking of trying anything out. :)

I debated on this one, but ultimately went with tier 2 for $6. As someone working towards game development I felt GameMaker: Studio Professional was worth adding to my collection.

P.S. Even though I follow bundles on my own, I always check out your threads since I joined this site because you have a great format for presenting information about the games. Keep up the great work!

Edit: Upgraded to the $12 tier after seeing how expensive the Android Module would cost me if I want it later. Originally skipped it because I have no immediate plans to develop for that, but I might in the future.

Is the Android export module worth an extra 6 USD? The rest of that 12 USD Tiers can be gotten from Internet I think.

edit: fuck that's some prices you have there. 75 USD after best discount. Guess I'm upgrading now.

I would like to know this as well. the android export module is not the same as the $299 GameMaker: Studio Android from steam store page right?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It is the same thing. The best sale price I've seen on it is $75.

It's an amazing deal and if you even think there is a remote possibility you would like to have an Android port of a game you develop in GMS at some point in the future you should pick it up.
