Those sources look kinda shady but i hope there is some truth behind it. Rumors tend to be real lately.

I wouldn't have given any credence to this except that Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding are also coming to PC despite being Sony published titles as well.

Different developer, different engine. At this point I don't think Sony will bother with a PC port.

Which is exactly what a lot of people thought regarding Horizon Zero Dawn. Not saying it's happening, just that it's no longer completely implausible.

Permalink

Horizon runs on the same engine as Death Stranding, they likely have a similar pipeline too. The same dev team worked on Death Stranding that also worked on Horizon.

First off, Kojima Productions is not Guerilla Games. Also, by that analysis Bloodborne would be trivial to port since the engine was already on PC as well, see the entire Dark Souls series.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Guerilla games sent 70 devs to Kojima Productions to work on their game. Bloodborne doesn't use the exact same engine as Dark Souls 3, rather heavily modified one. FromSoftware has an inhouse custom engine, likely modified so it only suits consoles in Bloodborne's case.

Where's the steam page though?

There's no official announcement so there's no Steam page. Simple.

Considering a ps4 pro can't get a consistent 60fps even at 720p, maybe the game will work properly on pc.

I knew it would eventually come to PC since it's not a first party exclusive, like with the Yakuza and Quantic Dream games. Although now even first party PS exclusives are coming to PC.

Definitely the best time ever to be a PC gamer.

I doubt it. I already played the game but if it's true I'll probably get it day one. PS4's performance was atrocious.

PS4's performance is more than enough for this game. It's not exactly technological milestone, is it?

I don't know if you played the game or not but the game runs so badly. It goes below 30 fps on some boss fights. Add to that the frame pacing bug which makes the game look sluggish and not as smooth as 30fps should be. I tried playing God of War which was also running at 30fps it wasn't as bad as Bloodborne at all. Weird thing is if I try recording videos of the game the frame pacing problem doesn't affect the video.
Also 30fps is kinda garbage for an action game.

The game is known for its bad performance and the frame time spikes are measurable and definitely there, even on a Pro. Not everyone is the same, though, and for some it might be more annoying than for others.

People have various sensitivity to fps issues, I've discovered it when playing in parallel with my son. I didn't notice any problems with Bloodborne (loved it, finished it), but he simply couldn't enjoy the game because of fps drops — on the very same console!

My conclusion was that arguing about these things is futile, different people will react to performance differently. I likely noticed some slowdowns here and there, but it didn't matter much to me.

Interesting. Tbh the only reason why I continued playing the game was because the gameplay and atmosphere were decent (as good as their other games). Otherwise I would've probably stopped playing the game. Just moving the camera around in Hunter's Dream looks bad. The frame pacing problem really is disgustingly noticeable for both me and my little brother. :[

Honestly not buying it. All of this spawned from one guy saying he heard a dude say it's getting announced in 10 months. Doesn't sound remotely plausible.

If you want to use illegal means to play your games, that's your choice. But at least you shouldn't brag about it publicly. :/

I wasn't serious, actually. So far, I've always waited the one year until the Steam release arrived. But I actually think that pirating Epic exclusives isn't so bad since the devs/pubs got massive amounts of money already. But F anyone who pirates indie games.

Comment has been collapsed.

Then I'd buy it there. I have no qualms about buying and playing on Epic. I got Vampyr there and some other games, and take advantage of all their free offers. Plus, the devs going to Epic deserve to be able to make more than the measly % Valve pays them. I mean, all Valve does is updates the client and hosts their game, maybe even helping with refunds, but that's it. They're so greedy.

That looks really shady and I think its a scam.
Or just incompetence. Until such time as Sony comes out and says they are releasing Bloodborne on PC, I'm calling bullshit.

What is a scam?

Comment has been collapsed.

Do you really think this site is selling a PC version of Bloodborne, a game that Sony has kept off PC for years because they want to keep it Playstation exclusive?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

... but it isn't selling Bloodborne... All you had to do was just do a single click. Nothing to look up even.

I guess it's easier to get outraged.

Look at Journey. Playstation exclusive now on PC. Took them 5 or 7 years but it finally made it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Sony once published some of their PS4 titles on Steam through their mobile gaming distribution branch, but they clearly said they won't publish Bloodborne on PC. Well, maybe the sales numbers didn't meet their projections, and now they changed their minds? Let's hope. It's like one of maybe 2 PS exclusives I wanted to play, and that was not worth getting a console for.

60fps Bloodborne would be the dream. Cautiously excited.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I would say this is unlikely at best. In April, Sony already said they have no plans to bring Bloodborne (or Uncharted) to PC.
Also Horizon and Death Stranding run on the same engine, so it was easier to create a PC version for them. Bloodborne runs in a different engine.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Wasn't it the same engine as used in Dark Souls 3? I might be wrong, but I think it was. DS3 is of course on PC, so that wouldn't be a problem.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

DS3 uses a modified version of the Phyre engine.. Bloodborne uses an in-house engine, so I guess no.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Where do you get that information? Can't find anything definitive (other than random guys on reddit). This at least implies it's the same engine. But that's not really proof. DS3 is not listed on the Wikipedia page for the Phyre engine. []This](http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=199410372&postcount=636) indicates it's a modified DS2 engine and not Phyre.

From here:
https://books.google.it/books?id=LlLSBQAAQBAJ&pg=PA29&lpg=PA29&dq=dark+souls+phyre+engine&source=bl&ots=h7Ytw2wdG6&sig=Ue13KBFP_14V446d4fI5YmEni6M&hl=it&sa=X&ei=IMtLVbiRBIKrU_LFgYgB&ved=0CFUQ6AEwBzgK#v=onepage&q=dark%20souls%20phyre%20engine&f=false
It's likely FromSoftware develops its own tools and engine on top of Phyre and develops it with every title. Likely they did something similar with Bloodborne, but they modified it even more to suit consoles. It's definitely not like they use unreal and just didn't bother with a PC export.

Yeah would be nice to play it at 60fps since it's 2020

Permalink

Or even above 60. I personally play at 100fps whenever possible.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Well I don't really care to go above 60, if I can sure I'm happy to do it, but the problem is going under that threshold

Hope it's true, that'd be awesome, one of the few anticipated games I've never been able to play. I was excited when Journey, Resident Evil 2 and 3 came to PC. Here's hoping Resident Evil: Code Veronica X, Uncharted series and Final Fantasy VII Remastered follows suit.

Edit: Oh, and the Kingdom Hearts franchise too.

i'm kind of banking on ff7 remake coming to pc. literally every single ff game in the main series has hit pc since the original ff7, and it usually only takes around a year or two.
as for bloodborne, i'm not holding my breath, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if it hits pc. bloodborne isn't selling any ps4s, and any ps4 owners who want the game probably already played it. releasing it on pc would bring decent sales, especially if they package in the dlc. it seems sony has been a bit less stubborn lately, so it's definitely possible.
