I have been working on SGv2+ since the beta started, but because of work related stuff, I kinda stopped pushing it forward. Now I am able to bring it back and I'd like to see if anyone in the community is experienced with Typescript/Javascript/CSS/HTML to help.

This time around, I'll be focusing on a modular design, each function will be contained in its own file and will be curated as I deem fit.

I'll set up my github account with the proper code in the weekend, all files will contain a mix of Javascript/Typescript code and are not presently suitable for end user, sorry.

The stuff I have that is updated to work with SGv2 includes:

  • Fixed navbar
  • Gridview

Things that could be part of SGv2+:

  • Scrolling Sidebar
  • Shorten comments
  • Endless Scroll
  • Hide Featured Giveaway
  • Put images in place
  • Live preview

And many more, nothing is set on stone, and those were the functions that I had working while the beta was going on. Some might be straighforward to make it work.

Last but not least, check the attachment image for Gridview + Fixed Navbar.

EDIT

Master branch is updated with the current code Github

EDIT (05/02/2015)

Functionality is coming together nicely, I have appended another screenshot to the post.

EDIT (06/02/2015)

What is currently working on SG++ Alpha is:

  • Scrolling Sidebar
  • Fixed Navbar (always on top)
  • Check if entry/winner has commented on giveaway
  • Comment and Enter (needs some tweak)
  • Endless Scroll (I still have to merge from madjoki)

EDIT (14/02/2015)

  • Beta launches

EDIT (16/02/2015)

Changelog 0.2.3 and 0.2.4

  • Fixed mixed errors;
  • Added User Hover Info, if enabled, after an user link is hovered for 1.5s a popup should appear with the info.

Known Issues:

  • User Hover Info report button doesn't work.

EDIT (27/02/2015)

Changelog 0.2.5

  • Allows users to forget a topic;
  • Fixes suspensions/report on User hover;
  • Updated Gridview to add more info/allow the hide giveaway to work;
  • Allows user to hide all read comments;
  • Other minor fixes.

EDIT (28/03/2015)

Changelog 0.3.0

  • Revamps settings;
  • Popup Giveaway added;
  • User Tagging added;
  • Some fixes;
  • You'll have to reenable your settings.

I kinda assumed most of SG+ features would be also included in SGv2, so now I was really expecting this to come up. Thank you so much :)

All I ever wrote for SGv2 was done from scratch, nothing was moved from SG+, also some features are incorporated into SGv2 itself. Those i'll likely not touch without a good reasoning.

Yes I also assumed SGV2 will include those features, since so much people used sg+.
CG should hire leomoty so this stuff will be implemented into the site, maybe with an options menu to enable and disable features.
Cg said he didnt implement those features because they are personal preference, a menu to enable or disable would solve this problem.
Demand is definately there.

Same here... if it was a script made by an X someone that many many people used, it was only logical but no... I won't switch pages for interesting things and I won't add a lot of crap to my steam wishlist to have a filter of some sort =/

I fucking love you man, I feel so restricted in my writing on SG.ST ever since we switched to the new SG since i've been using SG+ since I joined 2 years ago so you have no idea how glad I am someone is working on this.
I don't see it mentioned in the OP though, you do plan on adding that feature that made commenting a lot less of a hassle right?

yeah the tools in the editor for formating texts and make clickys with text would be awesome (also a button to post pictures would be great!)
This and the gridview and I'm happy.

I had the Live Preview done, didn't work on formatting tools as of the time of writing. I must say that I am porting most of the old code and checking whether it works or not... The new version is way more flexible and will make things faster.

I've got vast JS, HTML and CSS experience. I offered my services to SG, but the ticket went unread for months, so I've given up hope on contributing on that front, but I'd be willing to lend a hand with this.

And I still want to contribute my method of a fixed navbar + scrolling sidebar to the script. :)

Thank you very much for doing this. If you take suggestions some things I would like to see are, I don't know if they will be in it or not, hope they already are...

Bypass the confirm popup for when you add something to the hide giveaway list and stop page refreshing and taking you to the top of it. Just make the game disappear like it did in SG+V1

Be able to hit report on someones name and it takes you to the report page instead of having to open up the persons name and report them. Same goes for reporting a giveaway. Basically make it like it was for SG+V1 where it gave you all the different options.

I really liked knowing which were the new posts in a thread at just a glance. Though when I hit new, I would like to be taken to each new one in the list instead of just having to scroll. The scrolling is just a minor annoyance but would love to see it if possible.

Highlight games on my wishlist. I liked that, pretty sure it was part of SG+. I know there wasn't many it highlighted, like just the first 25 or so, but still I liked it.

I think those were the main features I like, if I think of anymore I'll add them on and post them where ever you would prefer them to be.

Again thank you :)

I'll look into it. However, I will make sure the code I have has been reused or dumped first. I wana develop a core set of features that are most wanted.

Well it is great to see someone will be updating it. Main use I had for the script beyond filter(which is already here if with an annoying confirmation) was in the forum where all new posts were clearly marked differently as otherwise it is hard to keep track of what is new and what not. Endless scrolling was useful too.

Thank you for working on this. :D
