For a different twist on the topic, and because I can NOT get this DAMNED song out of my head >_< , I thought I'd see what your favorite movie theme songs are.
The song is from an old favorite of mine at least. :P
Buckaroo Banzai: Across the Eighth Dimension.

Besides, when else are you going to see Jeff Goldblum in a red cowboy outfit? :P

I love this theme. So 80's and SO catchy.

Anyone else care to share?

Definitely the ending track for Fight Club if it counts. Spoilers obviously. Skyfall was also great, as is the main JB theme of course.
And these memorable tracks 1, 2 from Drive.

Try this link for Skyfall

It's sort of cheating to list anything by Adele. P

The first link was blocked for me which is why I listed the second. I went ahead and substituted a link to the official music video, so that should work.

Not very original, but I love "Eye Of The Tiger", music from Rocky :D
And also "Push it to the Limit" from Scarface.

These are not "songs", but I also loved the music from, in no particular order : Gravity, Moon, 120 BPM, the Harry Potter saga (especially the 4th one), Avatar, Pirates of the Carribean, and Midnight Special. And some others that don't come to mind right now :)

Always preferred this Phantom Instead, I know it's a little cheesy, but I can't help it. The theme is awesome

You haven't experienced it until you have seen it on Broadway. I did and I have NEVER regretted it. I'd love to go again one day.

James Horner is a genius. It's just amazing how different his music can be. I still remember this scary dark-ambient from movie Aliens.

Somewhat related to this topic.

I LOVE movie sountracks. Have several favorites of mine, and I listen to them all the time. But there is no original movie soundtracks anymore. No catchy theme songs, no more amazing scores. At least from mid 2000's to present.

Didn't notice why until I saw this video. I think it raises some interesting points.

That's a great video. I've discussed the commercialization of art (literature, film, music, videogames, etc.), before, but this is the first time I've seen someone address it in relation to musical scoring for movies.

My favorite film theme happens to be from Iron Man, though. D

LOL!

The conclusion that video essay comes to is that Marvel Studios needs to take more risks, and that seems to be exactly what Mothersbaugh and Taika Waititi did on Thor: Ragnarok—to terrific results.

Great art comes from pushing ourselves beyond what is "safe." )

My favorite movie, Fallen Angels made me become obsessed with this. song
But the Hausu Main theme is pretty great too
RAD
Lily Chou-Chou
Love Exposure and its Main theme
Air doll fits perfectly with the movie
The Good The Bad The Weird
Then there is every cheese song made by Jim Steinman he also composed for Tanz der Vampire, and Ennio Morricone everything he does is memorable, more often even better than the actual movies

Gotta thank my dad for these 2 amazing western films.
On a totally different style I've been enjoying Blade Runner 2049 track "Sea wall". That was like the peak of the movie for me, pure adrenaline

I haven't seen Deadwood, but you would seem to be correct. Every now and then, something "risky" and "artsy" will crop up, but usually on TV. Leave it to "the indie" to take chances. )

I love when Ritchie does his ensemble-music-video-style flicks. Lock Stock, Snatch, and Rocknrolla are all so fun. More recently, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. was quite fantastic and terribly overlooked.

I still haven't managed to view that one. Netflix continually adds dozens of titles to its list of which we've never heard (e.g. Barbie: Videogame Hero) while the stuff we want to see never seems to materialize.
