Great movie, always felt it was bit of a shame Ernest Borgnine didn't have a bigger part in it. did you see the 2,3 and 4th one?

I guess that would still be Schindler's List, for me. But as for something featuring some actual combat... Enemy at the Gates, maybe? It's very tense, if not very bang-boom-pow action-y like some others.

Schindler's List, count to me as WW2 movies don't necessarily have to be all combat in my opinion, as with like Schindler's List has a very touching story and the violin music that is with it just makes it a movie you must have seen :)

Do you have any to recommend other than the obvious choices of Saving Private Ryan and such?

there alot that I would recommend. but probably too many to all list so I'll list a few :)
The Great Escape (1963)
Battle of the Bulge (1965)
Where Eagles Dare (1968)
The Pianist (2002)
Defiance (2008)
Valkyrie (2008)

Colditz (1972–1974) (BBC Serie)
Résistance (2014) (French Mini-Serie)

There are so many movies and series around that are worth watching, some are more known then the other but even some of the less known ones are really worth it to watch.

Sadly I just can't stand the majority of the movies before 1985 or something, so I've missed Star Wars and a bunch of others, I watched Back to the Future only a few days ago, all three movies. I'll check the newer ones out. Thank you for the list! :D

the 2005 Colditz movie ain't to bad either, got a few good actors in it so I'd say it is also worth watching atleast once :)
