Steam support can be a real pain where it hurts, sometimes. I hope it gets fixed soon, this GA will end in a little less than 2 weeks, maybe a chance ? I read that someone has successfully written to GabeN for a support problem, maybe you can try that. That's safer than sacrifying a goat, anyway.
