You'll just find some secondary characters. It takes place in the same universe, but you can play this one first as stories are not really related, yeah.
Anyway, I suggest that you play Returns first, as it's a more basic game and it will work as a fine introduction to the series. This one is obviously better but Returns is still quite good (and shorter).
