Boys in your country use a totally different word when they are hungry?
What happens if you say the word not associated to your gender, do people get confused or laugh at you?
This is honestly fascinating to me. I can understand about certain gender specific words but "hungry" is universally non-gender.
I am not that good with the right terms needed to explain this, but lets say it like this:
Glad - Hunger
Gladna - Hungry (female)
Gladan - Hungry (male)
Gladno - Hungry (the closest is the "It" is hungry)
The root word is the same but the suffix is different depending on the gender.
Uhm.. Word with 6 letters?
