Should be Pilier Ouest. (West pillar) for question 6.
Was a fun puzzle. Thanks.

thanks a lot, edited ;p
me dont speak french ;p
Comment has been collapsed.
Ouest means west. That's the north west pillar.
Comment has been collapsed.
I deducted this xD as Pilier is pretty close to pillar ;p

I'm finally in. I'll tell you what was troubling me: a bit more further down, across the souvenir shop, is a guy wearing a white towel on his head. Nuns wear white in the summer, and the thing they wear on their head goes way down below the shoulders - just like the guy's towel.
After trying everything I could think of, I was just typing random things, like "hat" or "shoes" or "blue crocs" or "swimming shorts" - and "swimsuit" turned out to be the answer. I went back and saw a girl on a motorcycle wearing a black helmet... Honestly, I would have never made the connection. I was 100% sure that the towel guy was the nun.
Comment has been collapsed.
you made wrong connection - if you went 9 steps you'd see a girl sitting on a stairs in "bikini / swimsuit" (both answers were correct), and on her head she had a "nun-hat" - part of a habith - idk how it's called in english :>
Comment has been collapsed.
At first glance it kind of looked like her hair. Threw me off at first.
Comment has been collapsed.
I for the longest time didn't notice she had a top on (because its sort of flesh coloured) so I wasn naming everything else I could think of.

Wow, that was a really tough and fun puzzle. Thanks!

glad you enjoyed :> and nah, it wastn't tough - not compared to my usual puzzles :>

Thanks a lot zelg, I had a lot of fun even though I had to guess the nun question. I never saw her.

glad you enjoyed this little quest mon xD

Yay, that was worth the hour spent with puzzle. Gratz for milestone and thanks for awesome giveaway.
Also may be just my imagination, but that "nun" from Q10 looks more like a dude with towel over his head. Oo, but maybe I just got wrong person. :D
E: Nevermind, read the comments and found out I was wrong. Would not have connected that girl with a nun though. ^^

glad you enjoyed it :>

Thanks for the fun puzzle. The hardest one was the Effiel Tower.
Spent a lot of time trying these. XD
Didn't have too much trouble with the nun.

congrats on solving it :>

There was also a triangle on a car not too far from the plaza.
Comment has been collapsed.
triangle - "not too far from plaza." :)
street signs - on a road, not on a plaza. :)
you were all asked exactly to go to this specific plaza (there's beed only 1 Street View point on it) - not my fault many of you decided to explore Paris instead xD
Comment has been collapsed.
Well I was also trying that question before the typo was fixed. Since nothing was working I started searching elsewhere. :P
Also, the car was parked on the sidewalk beside the plaza.

Yikes. I love google maps puzzles. Seriously, they are the most fun.

didn't know there's been more google maps puzzles here :> but well, i can be original all the time i guess :(

Very fun puzzle! Damn Q6 had me stump for a bit, thanks for the giveaway and the puzzle zelghadis! :D
Comment has been collapsed.
you're welcome, and yeah I guess Q6 is the one most ppl struggle with :>
Comment has been collapsed.
Finally a puzzle I can solve! Thanks Zelg.
Anyone else guess the last question? I got it first try. :)
Comment has been collapsed.
lucky ;p actually a lot of ppl make stupid mistakes wih q15 like going random street instead of researching 1st where the closest McD is xD
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah was definitly guilty of this and eventually just started taking guesses by going down from 160 in steps of 5
Comment has been collapsed.
Me, well, I looked at the distance and guessed the number of hundreds it could be, and there it was.
Also given the +-5 option, the bruetforcing is not that bad, if someone does not want to go step by step on GM (me :p). You just need 180 guesses, which is not that much, if you are doing something else while waiting. :)
Comment has been collapsed.
actually tou only need 90 guesses for bruteforcing, because +-5 gives actual range of 10. Guessing 105 you're checking all between 100 and 110, then you guess 115, that covers 110-120 and so on :>
Comment has been collapsed.
Lesson learned: do not take shortcuts when searching for fast food restaurants :D Took one and had to make only 65 steps to find the closest McDonalds.
Thanks Zelghadis, had a blast solving this :)

"(following main road till McD is horizontally on level Google Car is" - main roads are too mainstream for you hipster kids? xD
congrats on solving it :>
Comment has been collapsed.
oh, hoped it will be lego batman
On 6 firstly tried Jeremy Clarkson, the only one guy from the show, that I know, and then find answer only after googling "uk tv show guy with white helmet"
Thanks for puzzle, it was... "interesting"
Comment has been collapsed.
glad you enjoyed, and sry to disappoint you with lego :( if you would try lego batman as answer it would be incorrect, while LEGO The Lord of the Rings was one of answers for ITH :>

Thanks for the puzzle!
Had trouble with the Red Bull one because I kept getting lost clicking around on Google Maps (IT KEPT ZOOMING IN INSTEAD OF MOVING FORWARD D: ), with the Eiffel one because I kept looking to far away from the tower and at street signs then end up under the bridge, with the Driving Lesson one because I thought I have to recognize someone's face so I was searching through the user-uploaded photos of that spot. Also I couldn't find the Ghibli Museum Entrance so I guessed the color :P. Oh and that's a Hot Nun! ^^
Congrats on the Milestone!
Comment has been collapsed.
Congrats and thanks :>
On google maps you could move using keyboard arrow keys and use mouse only to look around - it helps :>
Eiffel tower - yeh, this can be tricky one, as I'm not giving you exact location ;p
but.. but... it's a freaking Stig! xD
35.696369, 139.570173 - coords for museum gate :>
And Nun is HOT indeed :>
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanks! Q10 and 12 were the most difficult. 12 - because it wasn't on the main road and 10 - she looked like an ordinary girl with black hair and white headband.
Comment has been collapsed.
If you look at her from 1 step further you will notice that she has blonde or brown hair in fact. and there's also 2nd girl with same "hat" sitting behind her, yet she's not visible on 1st picture ;P
And well 12 may not be on main road, but with 10 steps radius you couldn't travel too far :> and I loved these small narrow streets so had to include one :>
Comment has been collapsed.
I did it, finally. It was a hard one. I got to the Red Bull sign by mistake, I used Street View and I was right from the start :P
Comment has been collapsed.
congrats :> I loved how these narrow streets looked in red bull question :>
Comment has been collapsed.
I spent most of last night and this morning brute-forcing Q15. I went from 120-200 then 220-300 -_-
All purely because Google LIED to me and changed your co-ordinates to Samborska. Then, as I mentioned in my forum post, I didn't know if you were travelling by car (obeying road rules) or by foot - using Google's map directions. Or simply going in a direct line, ignoring road rules. Also note, all of these routes do utilise the main road so I thought they could have been correct.
Utterly ridiculous, but I got there in the end. Thanks for the very clever and unique puzzle and also for the giveaway! :)
How did you come up with the questions? Did you just randomly pick spots in the world?
Comment has been collapsed.
depends on a question :> Some i came up with ides, some I googled, some ideas I dropped, cause I was looking around, but couldn find abything specific to ask a question about :> So one after another:
Q1. I googled lego, but didn't wast something as obvious as Legoland, then I found address for this shop and it had big blocks next to a road xD
Q2. Found on some site with interesting locations on street view :>
Q3. I've been to gamescom in koln and I've been on this bridge with all these locks - it's actually very close to where gamescom takes place - so that's where idea came from :>
Q4. I have many friends from russia in my Steam Groups and wanted to do something for them, and when I think Russia - I think Kremlin - so I wandered a little on Kremlin using Street View looking around and then saw this Samsung Logo :>
Q5. An big Manga nad Anime fan I wanted to do something related based in Japan. But also wanted it to be something more popular, not just a niche few otakus would know about. So 1st I researched Studio Ghibli - but it was normally looking building, just with small name-plate in front - but during research I found location for Ghibli Museum :> I wandered around a lot and generally loved the whole park, so that's idea behind that question :>
Q6. This one I designed especially for Nonos xD I was thinking France, and when you think Frane you think Eiffel Tower :> and I found this little spot with street view from plaza, not from a street, looked around, seen Cross and thought "Cross = PS Pad" xD
Q7. This one I found here. I love Top Gear, so I love Stig so had to add it there :> just walked a little bit so he wouldn't be visible right away :>
Q8. I'm from Poland so I had to add it here :>
Q9. Found it looking for "unusual" street view pictures :>
Q10. Found a nun on StreetViewFunny, then looked around and it turned out the closest hotel have it's webpade with link to google maps, so I used it :>
Q11. Wanted to do something in New York - Originally Q was about counting how many cars are parked between Broadway and Amsterdam Awe, but as I didn't know should I count this white car and wasn't sure for some others are they parked or just staying there for a moment I decided to go with White Car that was just parking :>
Q12. When I was in Holland I loved the small narrow streets next to canals, all these boats etc, so wanted to do something here, Was wandering around on Street View and I found this pub :> Wanted people to explore a little bit, look how beautiful it is, that's why you needed to turn to find it :>
Q13. Found Darth Vader on StreetViewFunny. Then looked around for something I may ask about and seen this giant banner at other side of the street. Also if someone doesn't find Vader it's hard to bruteforce, as there are shitloads of banners on whole Hollywood Ave :>
Q14. My friend who always solves my puzzles and I was sure he's gonna solve this one as well loves Garfield. So I researched for something Garfield Related on Street View and found that xD
Q15. It was designed as a lazy time-waster and it's easy to misscount especially when street view lags, so I thought it would be an awesome idea to mess up with solvers :>
Comment has been collapsed.
Wow, I didn't quite expect such a comprehensive answer! However, I find the thought and making process of puzzles interesting so it was good to know and from the sound of it, you spent a long time putting this puzzle together.
Q15 certainly messed me up, I honestly had more difficulty with it than the Eiffel tower question, but it was largely due to Google itself playing with me.
I want to go to the Ghibli museum one day, I'd like see this in person :(
Comment has been collapsed.
Found it! :)
Don't think I'd play it tho, so won't enter.
Good to see the idea of using google maps works, might try it myself in the future.
