The Stone Roses - Waterfall

One of my most stolen pieces (I do google image searches sometimes). Once claimed as 'the spirit of furry vengeance' by some furry website. Is nothing sacred?

View attached image.

wait... you paint Ghostrider with a wolf head and you don't expect people to call it 'the spirit of furry vengeance' ? Should they call it 'the furry spirit of vengeance' instead ?

It was done as a request for a Fire-type version of the Pokemon Marowak. I don't know how it got so misconstrued...

Unfortunatelly - nothing. If you won't post giant watermark in the middle of your picture (but please don't do that :P) there will alawys be some people who will just repost it, rename it, or even claim it for themselfes. Also, if you are sensitive to your rights, I think you should re read FayeBoo terms of service. If i remember correctly they can do antyhing they want with things we post there.

Nah, I'm not about to start on watermarks! I don't worry too much and so far I haven't found anyone claiming my work as their own - just a lot of people using stuff without permission and I just try and make sure I'm credited! Mostly I just look to see the strange places it ends up!

I once tried to found one photo for my personal usage (no funny things, wallpaper on my private PC). I couldn't find right resolution so I did image search. With arounf 50 links, everywhere where it was possible I saw author comments, demanding to remove photos, scaring people with lawsuits and things like that.

While I do understand request of being credited (and I belive everyone should do that, when they are reposting pictures) and I can understand demand of taking certain photo from certain page, I don't understand why some authors decide to go on war. After all, I think this is like promotion. I see some nice picture, I check artist, I visit his webshop and but some poster for my wall. But, I guess, that's not my buissness after all.

Nice to hear that you won't use watermarks ;)

I can understand why people get bent out of shape - I have seen some dreadful cases of people exploiting artists work and there have been a few incidents that have left a sour taste in my mouth (one time somebody was trying to sell an edited version of one of my pictures as a stock image).

But the way I see it pictures are a renewable resource - I can always make more in a few hours. Generally I'd rather have publicity that might help me one day rather than wasting time that I could be using making more art threatening random people on the internet for no gain.

Damn, that doesn't sound nice. I sometimes wonder why people do such things. I'm not role model but I would feel bad for using someones work for my gain. It's just... wrong. Maybe it have something to do with emathy, or more likely with lack of empathy. Unfortunatelly, form my own experience, people who do things like that, are masters in hypocrisy and tend their own work like their lives.

I salute your point of view on that case.
