Terrible. Sharks aren't as abundant as other common fishes in the sea and they also reproduce fairly slowly. Unless the activity is banned or prohibited, they might go into endangered status soon.

They cut off fins and leave rest of these poor animals to die just because some stupid fucks want to eat soup in luxury restaurants. It's disguisting. Just as killing whales (mostly bc of tradition, there isn't any rational reasont to kill whales for meat when you can eat chicken or something) or rhinos (people think that theirs horns are aphrodisiac).

Sharks are cute.

Angry. Terrible things happen to animals everyday, but we tend to overlook that. 'Suppose it was simply their fault for not being born as us, the superior and all-mighty men playing god over all of the others. Hunting these beautiful creatures down for our own egoism makes me sick. There's no excuse, and humanity will suffer the consequences for their actions.

Animal cruelty is terrible, and I am not a supporter in general even of killing animals for sport or vanity (trophies). Killing for food still makes me uncomfortable, because I'm not a vegetarian, so I can't speak on that with any sense of moral superiority. :)

Yes, there are some cases where culling is healthy for the ecosystem when a certain animal population has grown out of control and is killing off other species either directly or indirectly by destroying their food sources or spreading disease. (Not as understandable to me when the reason is "they're eating the flowers in my garden!")

But cutting off just a shark's fin to make soup (or cutting off an elephant's tusk, or a rhino's horn, etc.) and disregarding the rest of the animal, or even worse, maiming it and letting it live, seems horribly senseless and cruel, not to mention wasteful. Show some respect to living creatures, if you're going to kill it, at least do it a humane way and use every bit of the animal so that its life was not lost in vain.

I'm against that as well... How could one does such a thing? That's all sad :(

Well... Usualy i dont think about it as i dont like to eat fish and i'm living far from any larger water thingy. Well... I'll say no to it i guess? Yes.

I refuse to eat it. It's cruel and completely unnecessary.
