Has anyone played this with other players? Does this make a good LAN game? Do I need to own a copy for each computer or can 1 key install 4 copies and have friends come over and play the other 3 roles?
About 3 years ago I played some sort of Star Trek multiplayer game with 5 other players (6 total) in a garage in San Diego. I don't remember the name of the game, but this looks like a direct successor to it, because the one I tried did not have VR capabilities, very dated graphics, but the concept was interesting (each player has very different consoles/controls and micro-goals with the captain trying to wrangle all 5 other players to work together to survive/accomplish the mission). Any guesses what game that was because I cannot seem to find it (browsed the Star Trek video games wiki and skimmed each description)?
TBH, the only game that sounds similar to what I played is this game, Bridge Crew, but there is no way this is the same game...unless I was playing with a dev or tester and it was a very early alpha build because when I say "very dated graphics" I mean late '90s early '00s style 3D with simplistic wire frames and/or poor resolutions but maybe it was just this game running on a 640x480 ancient projector and/or a slow computer with settings at minimum, and an early build that required more players (6 instead of 4)? Honestly I'm just so confused about that game because I didn't know the house owners or any of the partygoers, and it was a very unique group of people I accidentally met and never saw again.
