Anime series: Seirei no Moribito (guardian of the sacred spirit) and Legend of galactic heroes. :) Monster & Cowboy Bebop also come close. xD
Movies: Spirited Away, anything from Satoshi Kon (especially Paprika), gits and many others...

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure is the only anime I've watched lately and really enjoyed, but then I've been a huge fan of the manga for over a decade.

I found out about this series thanks to the anime adaptation and ended up reading the rest up to part 6. The part 4 anime preview looks really promising.
Part 4 is one of my favorites, so I'm definitely looking forward to that as well.
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. The only long anime I find great throughout the whole story.
