Description

Do you miss the good old days when gaming magazines were popular?

Do you enjoy writing game reviews?

Do you want to read reviews made by regular gamers rather than gaming journalists?

If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, then you are invited to take a look at

Unofficial SteamGifts Community - Digital Gaming Magazine.

You can get the chance to win awesome games and review them for the community, and much more.

The project is still new and the staff is eager to welcome anyone interested, your ideas and talents are needed!

Ps. It is not a requirement of any sort, but if the winner wants to share their review/opinion of this game then I'd love to hear it.

If I wasn't to do this for myself for our Group, I'd probably would love to join you.

Thanks so much! I loved playing this, when I had my PlayStation+ trial. I'll play the hell out of it if I win the thing.

God, I remember when I used to get a monthly subscription of GameInformer as a kid years back when the Gamecube was one of the newest gaming consoles on the market. It didn't make me want to play any of these games. No money. It was just fun to imagine what these games were like. And the jokes were funny to me at least, especially their "worst game ideas ever."

Hello. I wanted to post my reply here, so as to not spoil the ending for people peeking in that other thread.

I just disliked the ending in general. There is no happy ending, and it feels like the ending was rushed to me. Oh! You were the cause of the storm in the first place? Come on! And the whole town gets destroyed OR your best friend Chloe (or more?) remains dead? That isn't a choice at all! Who would let countless people die for one person, no matter how much you care for them? I know it's cliched (the whole "needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few" quote from Wrath of Khan), but if I get invested in the characters, I want them to have a happy ending? And Max will have to live with her decision for the rest of her life, and neither of them will bring her any joy.

I was hoping that the remaster would at least change it so that you weren't screwed no matter what ending you chose. Max deserves a happy ending! She IS a good person after all!!

(sorry for the rant, my friend).

Oh! What did you think of the ending (or the game in general)?

Oh wow, very sorry to be getting back to you on this so late. I saw your message not long after you posted it but didn't have a moment to respond in depth, and then just... forgot. ^^; Well, hopefully better late than never!

I agree with most of your sentiment about the ending, disliked it very much and it kind of soured a lot of the game for me as a result. It was never "amazing" to begin with for me, there were several points of it that I would've liked to improve or change, and I must admit I dislike Max the more time goes by. Despite of that, I did actually have quite a good time with the game from eps 1 to 4, it was just charming despite the issues I was seeing with it.

But I feel like the last episode dropped a ball on pretty much every single front. From what I gathered, not even the hardcore fans were happy about it. Ep 5 was the finale and yet it wasted considerable amount of time with alternative universe moment, hallucinations and some dream sequence (if memory serves right) instead of really focusing on the characters. It barely showed most of them and killed one of the important characters off-screen, with just a mention of it.

And then yeah, the actual ending was just... insult to injury. From the start of the game I had always worried that the point of the story would fall into the predictable and tiresome time travel trope of "we must let this happen", but I hoped LiS would have another ending to it - it didn't.

Who would let countless people die for one person

This made me chuckle because when the ending choice came around, I just rolled my eyes and picked to save Chloe, haha. I don't particularly even like her, but I did it out of spite for the alternative to be to erase the entire storyline of the game by having her die. It didn't make sense, why would Max dream of the storm before Chloe was even dead if her being alive causes the storm, why would she even get such a power if she wasn't meant to save Chloe, etc etc.

It was just poorly done, and then you clearly were not ever supposed to pick any other ending but to save the town. Saving Chloe results in short cinematic that doesn't answer anything about what happens, where as the alternative gives a much more fleshed out ending cinematic. So even after all your choices meant nothing, you don't even have a final say. Sigh...

Okay, I'm rambling a bit now, I just remembered how disappointing it was after the wait to get that ending.

If it is any consolation, it only took me 4 months to reply to you! Sorry about that. :(

I think the last episode was rushed due to running low on funds to finish it. I feel that the remaster was the perfect time to "fix" the endings so there was a THIRD option.

And at least your rant was a valid one!
