As you emerge from the portal, you realize you have entered a room similar to the previous one... but then you notice a small CCTV camera on the wall, just below the ceiling. Are they watching me? Am I some kind of an experiment? Exhibit? A theater performance? And... who the hell are "they"? Frustrated, you aim the portal device at the camera and press the button. A portal appears beneath it, and the camera falls off. A disembodied voice then reproaches you for something that sounds like "destroying vital test apparatus".
Startled, you quickly open another portal and walk through, emerging in a barren desert.
