Act 3: So that we can rise again.
-Glad to see you are punctual for once. I guess it’s much easier when you can control time like that, right?
The man sitting back on the bed turns on a stereo and a song begins to play.
-I remember the day we met. December 1, 2015, at that party I decided to go on the last minute. She was all alone after her friends went home early, so I decided to introduce myself. Few times I did that in my life, but that night was one of those were you feel encouraged enough to do so. The alcohol? Who knows. One thing is for sure: fate can really be a bitch.
After talking for an hour I invited her to dance. “May I have this dance?”.“Prove you are worthy”, she said. That’s when I went to the pc and changed the music to this song. You should have seen her face. It was one of her favorites. There’s where our happy story together began. “Until death do us apart”. So true, but who would thought it would be so soon and with me pulling the trigger.
I’m sure you wonder who the hell am I, why am I doing this and where the hell did stuff like a time machine come from. Let’s just say that my puzzle obsession got out of control for many years and the time spend, along with the skills acquired, led me to the kind of job that you only see in the movies. One of those jobs took me to the future, where I saw her with another man: Edward Carnby. I went mad, so mad that I lost control and the perspective of time. I killed them. Twice. You have already witnessed the acts of my madness.
This secret was driving me crazy. I needed to tell to someone. But who? The only one I could trust enough was myself. That’s why you are here.
The man turns his back to you and, despite the eye bags and the wrinkles, you recognize the sad face straight away. Is easy to do so with a face you see every morning in the mirror.
-That's why I made a puzzle I knew I could solve.
My story won’t be your story. The sins I’ve made have condemned me but can save you. The monster I’ve become may be the key for you to have a normal life. Your time line has changed and I hope it’s for the best. I wanted to tell you, probably because I thought that getting something positive about this nightmare would make me feel half human for a few seconds. I was wrong.
The time machine I gave you has one travel left before becoming useless. Use it to go back to your time line and remember this: the future is always uncertain, but is our responsibility to try our best and live the happiest life possible.
One last thing: I was a bit worried about the guy who created the puzzle. He looked a bit dumb but he got the job done, so say this to him: “not bad for being you.It worked. Thanks”.
Now leave. The song is about to end.

Maybe I didn't make that clear enough. The birthday is the password to open the time machine. That's just part of the plot to make you think: "how would this guy know that?" and so the government security office were unable to open it.

EDIT: Btw, the format in Alone in the Dark should be one word by two words isn't it? Since it's song by artist, not the other way round. I was confused as I thought you wanted another song by Angel at first.

I think you might have misread me, maybe I wasn't clear enough. :/ I meant when using 'by', it should be song by artist, so it's one word by two words, like in the correct answer. But what you put in the hint is two words by one word. If using '-' then both are interchangeable, so no issue with this.

You know, I had sworn off doing any more puzzles on this site, because to be perfectly honest, I'm usually not that great at them and they had become a huge timesink, but this puzzle just sucked me in, and I'm glad that it did, because this was amazing! I completely failed at Act 1. Checking your past giveaways should have been one of the first things I did. I wasted so much time trying to figure out what I was supposed to do with the Alone in the Dark hint.

I have to say I really enjoyed the story! It gave the puzzle some depth, instead of just "go here, answer this, click there and done". Add the music for ambiance and it was just like a good old point-and-click adventure. :)
I apologize for forgetting about the puzzle, because I solved the main part soon after you created it, saw there are extra "candies" and realized there's more (especially with the suspicious number of questions), but I was distracted and simply... forgot, oops!
Once I saw the thread bumped, though, it was just a walk in the park. xD
