I fell I totally bruteforced Q1 :/ The game is Transport Tycoon, isn't it? I spend a lot of time researching and found nothing. I was just reading some tips and trying things like loops and so.
Q2 - Just had to check the English name.
Q3 - I had first tried crocodile
T_T
but then I found the wikipedia article. I think I found an Iguana train from 188x too.Q4 - scale, model, modeling, modelling, toy, miniature...
Q5 - I first tried Schuco.
Thanks for the puzzle. I will check the choo chooo now ^^

Congratz to solving.
If you played Transport Tycoon, you know the tunnel trick.

ok I found it now O.o

I couldn't believe my eyes when I've seen that question - I've actually found that glitch by accident on my own, had a mouse with a filthy ball (remember those ? before there were optical mice) that didn't move the pointer where I wanted to, and I just made a tunnel cross the entire map - getting crazy amounts of cash.

Of course I remember these mice. I think I've still got one somewhere. Found the tunnel glitch myself too (or was it my brother, I am not sure anymore). Good old times.

I loved "bumping" the opponents' trucks/buses with my tailor made train tracks... they were sure losing business, hehe ^^
1 Opponent builds trucks/buses
2 I build a train track that intersects their route
3 ...train-go trigger time ! :)
4 Opponent has no more trucks/buses on the route :(
5 Sell train+track

5. PROFIT!
Edit: Why is my "5." converted to "1."?Comment has been collapsed.

@Q5: Added 'not Schuco' to the hint for all others. I didn't think of Schuco at all, thanks for the hint.
@Q3: Added something to discard 'Iguana' as answer (at least I think so).

finally, I tried Crocodile as one of the first tries, never thought to do the Krokodil spelling

:)
In case you try puzzles of mine in the future: I might use german spelling to make it more difficult.
Sorry if you got frustrated (if you did) about it.

Honestly I shouldve known, due to the accented a in q5

Finally made it! I have no idea about trains or modeling, so I had to bruteforce every answer. It took me 3 hours, but now I'm happy to be here. Thanks for the puzzle and the chance!

Congratz to solving! Enjoy high chances of winning.

Had to wait for the hints as I really could not solve q3. I tried crocodile pretty early on and didn't even consider another spelling of the word, as soon as the hint appeared I got it :-D Really enjoyed the quiz though, thanks!

Nice one! Not being into trains, I've discovered a lot of nice things to solve your questions :)
Q4 was the easiest, popped up after a google search
Q5 came right away after Q4, on the wikipedia page
Q2 took a bit longer, but I've found a nice list of train movies that will definitely be useful
Q3 wasn't that bad, after finding that wikipedia has pages listing locomotives by year of introduction. Good I noticed the name in original language!
Q1 was the hardest for me, as I've never played the game. Anyhow, here is page with tips and cheats for TTD.
In all this, I've already won a new game ;) OpenTTD will be my drug for the long weekend!

I have to warn you! If you like OpenTTD it will not be 1 weekend only!

Q1. It was easy to figure out that Transport Tycoon was the original of OTTD and it didn't take long to find the proper answer in section "0.5 Cheats" of this google result.
Q2. Was easy to google with the given hint of Buster Keaton
Q3. Was only tough because it didn't take the English version of the answer ;o) Easy after that hint.
Q4 & Q5 Were both easy to google without hints.
Now, I seriously want to play OTTD and plan to this weekend.
Thanks!

I took a break solving this but finally decided to give it a good try. Very nice questions. Q1 was tricky for those who didn't play but internet has everything :)

Because it is tricky, chances are still pretty good for you (and the few others) :)

Q1 was really hard, and I come from another side! :)
