I guess if i would have to pick it would either be Morrowind or Gothic I.
Different in gamestyle, but both ahead of their time and with a lot of new ideas.
Also do both have really nice story.

for RPG it will be same two picks - TESIII: Morrowind and Gothic ... but maybe Gothic II with the Raven addon, I was playing G1 soooo looooong agoooo, but it was really nice as well, tried all the paths available in G1, but not in G2 ;)

P.S.
Thanks for GA, but I have all Gothic/Risen games already ;)

Appreciate the chance at Risen 3 :)

I'll second Bloodlines - one of my all times favorites even now.

It's just so good.
Complete freedom of action, unique, complex dialogues, immersive and involving and just all-around great story, amazing setting and consistent ambiance and endless hidden depths, awesome combat, a multitude of different approaches to any situation, great humor, and just basically an endless slew of praise for the game. :P

Other than Activation deliberately trying to sabotage the game and it coming out half-broken, it's still the most incredible game I've ever played.
A bit dated, now, however- or perhaps it's the 4 dozen or so complete runs I've done that make it hard to play it anymore :'P

I don't call it my favorite because it's the best among many, but because it blows all the rest out of the water completely =O

I really need to get a hold of its spiritual successor at some point, but I'm worried I'll be disappointed :'P
It's a high standard to match up to , after all.:)

I don't know, it's like asking for my favourite album. It's really hard. I really liked Dungeon Master and Captive on my old Atari ST. Vandal Hearts was my favourite on PS1. I really loved Digaea and a few others on PS2. I've really enjoyed some of the Elder Scrolls games on PC. I could probably continue...

Fallout 2, definitely. I replay it almost every year.
Then bloodlines, KOTOR2, BG, Original Sin, Morrowind, Good, Planescape. These ones are good, but not best.
oh. and Space Rangers. It can be called RPG in some way.
