Magnolia is my favorite of his, it's a drama about 10 different people and their ups and downs. Boogie Nights is also a very good film of his, it's filmed in Magnolia's style but scaled back to about 3 main characters and several supporting people. It's about the rise and fall of a group of porn stars through the 70s and 80s. it also has one of the tensest scenes in motion picture history.

It'd make my top 20 list without a doubt.

I haven't watched any of his films. I guess it's not my taste.

Boogie Nights is a really good film if you want to check one out. It's about the rise and fall of the porn industry and a group of stars throughout the 70s and 80s.

He's a really good director, he just recently made Inherent Vice, which is a bit like The Big Lebowski.

Haven't seen any, although he had a cameo in Minority Report. Does this count?

I'd say that Boogie Nights is his best one for anyone to watch, as long as you're not offended by full frontal.

It seems clear to me you're quite a movie buff. And I appreciate how accepting you are of those of us who haven't seen the movies. :) I'm always up for finding new films. Any of them in particular that you recommend?

I know that I have hundreds of great films to watch myself, plus it was only a few years ago that I hadn't had seen many of the films that I love. I'd say that Boogie Nights is probably his most entertaining and accessible movie, it's about the rise and fall of a group of porn stars in the 70s and 80s. Magnolia is my favorite film of his, although it is a straight drama all the way through, and it's his saddest movie.
