More or less, yes. I made this one a little longer, but all the others were 20-24 hours long!

Thanks Starlynk! I don't understand why people don't read descriptions on giveaways. It doesn't take long, and quite often it's something interesting :)

I agree. I think it's the least you can do! And sometimes you find "hidden" surprises :-D

Probably because 99% of the times it's just self-promotion. "Subscribe to my youtube channel" "Join my steam group" "Greenlight my game"

I rarely read descriptions, so I guess you could count me out of your experiment.

Went incognito with my comment in public giveaway to not to destroy an experiment but it's still not to generic. Often first comment can make people more alert I think. Let me know if I should change it cause I'm also quite interested I result of your experiment ;).

haha I was wondering about your comment! I thought to myself "hmmm he made a comment specific to the game being given away and didn't take the time to read the description...". Glad you did read it after all! :-) Please leave it as it is! :-)

Hah, wasn't ready to see discussion here roll so fast but it was a little on purpose I must admit :p.

If it's about me - I am always reading the description, yet sometimes lastly don't have time to write proper answer so often I just leave the card with this specific giveaway so I can comment and enter it later when I can focus on it a little :). I like descriptions.

Ok, I will! ^^

I'm glad I can read too. :) Thank you for being awesome! :-D

By the way: Did you know, that we're generally very used to learning to read and write at the same time, that it's hard for us to imagine how somebody could not learn both things at onces. It's therefore hard for us to imagine how it was in ancient cultures, where there were actually quite few people able to read to some amount but only very few able to write.
Just a random fact about being able to read for your (not so) secret GA. :)

Thanks for the random fact! :-) Random fact about the (not so) secret GA creator: I actually could read way before being able to write as well. I was really interested in reading at a very early age, but I hated writing because I had problems with my fine motor skills as a kid (and still a little bit; unreadable handwriting; yay for typing! ;-))

Bad handwriting. That rings a bell for me X-D
I don't know what you say in the Netherlands but in Switzerland doctors are considered to have bad handwriting...like always. So based on my handwriting (they called them hieroglyphics in school) I should have studied medicine. Still chose a profession where I can type my stuff. ;)

hahahaha my best friend actually called my handwriting hieroglyphics as well and in The Netherlands it's called "doctor's handwriting" as well ;-) Haven't gone to med school either, so if I need to take notes in a meeting I always bring my laptop so other people don't have to deal with my hieroglyphics ;-)

And to think, I used to say reading was overrated...jokingly of course :D

The only time I find myself skipping the description is if it appears to simply be a verbatim description of the game taken from the store page. Otherwise, I try to take the time to read what the giveaway creator has said. I know I'm always happy when people answer the questions I sometimes ask in my giveaways.

Oh yeah, I also skip the really long and boring copy/paste work but I at least skim through the text to see if it's interesting :-)

I recognise you experiments, maybe from some discussion? I've managed to stumble upon them some other way. Anyhow, Skylines is a game I really look forward to playing, so thank you so much for the chance! Will probably only enter the "hidden" one :-)

Always good if people from my whitelist find their way to my giveaways! :-) Please enter the public one too (unless you need the points for something else of course ;-)). I'll see if I can rig the system a bit to get the public one to a cool person well ;-)

On the topic of people from the whitelist finding giveaways - if you go to my current Castlevania whitelist giveaway, there's a link to an invite only giveaway for one of the games on your wishlist there :)

I think that higher levels are more likely to read descriptions, i tested that in a giveaway some time ago

Yes, that's probably true. All those giveaways were lvl 2 to keep an even playfield (and because I like giving away games to people who at least gave away some games, but don't want to alienate people who don't have much money to spend)

Ha! I've never done a private giveaway and didn't even know how they worked. (I'd see them in people's profiles but had no idea.) So you've taught me that a private giveaway just a link (I think). btw - Sim City in its various iterations is one of my favorite games of all time.

Feedback on your ratios above - it's sometimes difficult to spend my points here on steamgifts, so I'll often just fly through the listings and select a few. I'm not purposely not reading the listings, but 300 points is a lot of entries to work through.

also, out of curiosity I looked to see if I'd previously entered any of your giveaways and missed your hidden link, but it turns out this is the first giveaway from you that I've entered.

Glad to see you've learned something from this giveaway too :-) People use those private giveaways on the forums a lot (as a reward for solving puzzles for instance). It's a really nice way to find giveaways with less entries, so better odds to win a game :-)
