Description

Congratulations on making it this far!

Unfortunately, I lacked the time to create a proper puzzle for the next step of the giveaway, so here's an easy one for you:

  1. I am what I give.

  2. "- - -"

  3. ACU, ACA, ACG

  4. Beati omnes qui timent Dominum

  5. You don't even require a clue for this one.

The link format is: http://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/#xxxX.

Good luck and hope you enjoy!

The answers for this were:

  1. "J", for Janus, the band singing the song being referenced (Which is "Was uns zerbricht", a superb song). The line translated to "Die Dämme brechen lautlos" in German using Google Translate (while I know German, I am aware many don't, so I looked for a phrasing that would repeatedly return this result. I tested it out on three browsers - Opera, Chrome and IE, although I couldn't imagine why you would be using the latter - and it always returned that result), and the picture linked was a flag of Germany, to point you that way. Just in case your Google Translate search wouldn't point you the right way, though (i.e., assuming other regions would translate slightly differently, e.g. using a synonym for one of the words), I had included a second clue: an image saying "Sag doch was!", which is the name (and main lyric) of another of their songs. The link to the image was in the second comma in the paragraph after the clue.

  2. "T", for Trine. The slogan belonged to EA Sports, hence the image, which was only a red herring, though. Including the "in" in brackets was a giveaway to the real direction in which the clue pointed: "It's the game", so the first letter in its name.

  3. "M", for Moldova. The country has the largest alcohol consumption per capita in the world (hence the heaviest drinkers), as well as the largest wine collections and wine cellars in the world (hence the Bacchus reference - also, seeing those cellars is perhaps one of the most awesome experiences you could have while drinking, the largest spans hundreds of meters underground and literally uses a BUS to give you the tour).

  4. "t" for thymine, one of the four nucleobases in DNA, which the article spoke of (it was just a very cool article I found during personal readings). Phrasing it as "thy is one" wasn't even correct in the English language, which should have been a first clue ("thou" was correct in context), but "thy" is one of the abbreviations (the three-letter one) for the nucleobase.

  5. "V" for VVVVVV, the hint pretty much synthesised the entire storyline behind the game. "dimensional interference" was one of the terms the game uses in describing what was happening, although it doesn't make much sense in the context in which it's used (it means something completely different in current physics).

And the link for the giveaway following it in the line...

wow, thank you.
clearing up what are hints, what is "story", etc helped me a lot.
