Day 7
Seventh lesson learnt: Food is a blessing
Okay, this isn't actually a lesson, but a thought that I realised this year. We're extremely lucky to be able to have something we like in order to survive. To get all the nutrients we need for living, we could just swallow a pill, or maybe produce them ourselves from other elements, like plants do. Instead of this, we can enjoy extraordinary flavours in every bite we take, just by doing something that is essential for our survival. Of course, some food is tastier than other, but this chance of enjoying our survival is awesome.

I have the book in the "to read" list, but I haven't read it yet! Sure many people have already thought about this, and have express it in a better way than I have. I'll have it mind when I read the book, thanks! ^^

As someone who could not enjoy nutritious food for a long time due to monetary reasons, this is something I always stress. It is important to enjoy and eat good, healthy things. Sure, fattening things or non-nutritious things or then "diet" items are good, but they have their place and time. Internal health is more important than weight. Eat well, eat pure, good food. Whatever weight that keeps you on. Don't stuff yourself or try to diet just because of societal pressure. Of course, if one has an eating disorder, it is hard. Which is why fat- or skinny-shaming is a horrible practice. If our brain says eat/don't eat to feel euphoria, it's like an addiction and not something which deserves such judgement. I know this well, I am such a person. But just as a general rule, trying to have a balanced diet is good for your body. However much you can manage it. :)

Yeah, you have to manage the "blessing" of the food (not too much, not too little). With great power comes great responsibility.
