I like that the cheese puts an indicator on the map when it spawns. The cat feels slow enough that it's impossible to lose unless you 'want' to, you could possibly make the cat start chasing you faster in increments the more cheese you get (with an upper threshold of course otherwise it'd become impossible after a while with the cat running faster than the mouse.)

It's a good game. Maybe implement a system where after you have collected so many pieces of cheese (10?) you get another live.
