GOTY 2012, no doubt.

Wooo! Is it really GOTY material? I loved the first two, but I heard this one went kinda generic.

My friend and I both preordered it. I was so psyched to play it because I loved the first two back in the day. I played it for 2 hours on launch day... one hour of the single player campaign, one hour of the multiplayer. Single player: Cut scene, shoot a bunch of random people, cut scene, move to this area now and shoot a different bunch of people, cut scene, move to next area, OH NOES shoot a new bunch of bad people, dramatic cut scene. Multi: Laughable, don't even bother.

GOTY? Probably not. Biggest waste of $60 of the year? Possibly. These days every game has good graphics and it's the story and gameplay that will make or break it, and this game is real flimsy. Maybe I should give it another chance before I totally write it off. Meh.

TLDNR: Good graphics, boring story and combat. Still, you might like it.

I can't remember if it was the first or second one, but one of them had this area where you were in a dream following blood trails and whenever you started to go the wrong way you would start to hear this freaky scream get louder and louder. It freaked me the fuck out. I hope there's more trippy scenes like that in this one.

What did you expect? Max Payne 1 and 2 were pretty much the same in terms of gameplay. The story is great, you can't judge the whole game by it's first hour. Also, the multiplayer is a lot of fun.

I enjoyed the cut scene, they were well placed and not that long.
Helped understand what is going on and not doing the boring parts.

The story was great, donno why you hate it.

Hopefully, there will be someone else who makes a giveaway of this without the ridiculous price.

I agree. If you have spent $1337 on games for other people, then I doubt the value of a game is much to that person.

The comments from 10uROnly, StrawberryRainPop and DJilly blemished what was a 1337 giveaway to awesome people.

MoneyHypeMike decided to gift a game to the highest ranking gifters on this site as a form of thank you and... well... he can very well do that since it's his giveaway.

As much as I might understand the good intensions of 10uROnLy and StrawberryRainPop's comments (i.e. they weren't meant to offend anyone), they still sound rude and partially demanding. MoneyHypeMike has no obligations to this site and there is no rule stating that he must make public giveaways, so spoiling the fun just makes you guys look bad.

DJilly, on the other hand, just makes me sad. Remember that "the rich kids" could've easily avoided gifting games in the first place. Remember that they're still doing it out of their free will so, as much as it might seem less of an effort to you, they still chose to give it away to someone instead of spending it for themselves. Remember to be grateful if someone gives you a gift, because they weren't forced to give you anything in the first place.

Jealousy is such a sad attribute in a human being: a blending of hate and greed, IMO.

I just want to point that if you give 1337$ to community you really do not need this giveaway however, mike was thinking different I guess because I didnt give anything to community and for him I shouldnt say anything. He is a good contributer but I have really dissapointed.

First of all, we don't truly "need this giveaway" or any video game giveaway, at that. Some of the people that you think "need" these games are actually leechers that hope to make business out of the generosity of others (without even thanking them, might I add), so I don't see your point in the least.

Secondly, you speak of these generous gifters as if they were broken dispensers; giving free beverages and snacks. [EDIT: in retrospect I went overboard here. You never implied anything like that, so I wrongly accused you of this, but the rest still stands] They are people and it so happens that some of them actually give for the joy of giving, but that doesn't mean that they're stupid. I'm more than sure that they appreciate a spontaneous gift of gratitude in return, too.

I swear, when I read your comment it almost sounds as if you're saying "well, they're giving away so many games so they probably don't need any in the first place," but that's a very greedy way of thinking and, unfortunately, a common mentality. Where I live, if you're too kind you're considered stupid, and people use you, but if you're an opportunistic asshole they respect you... that just pisses me off and your mentality isn't that different.

Forgive me if I sound rude, but your logic is forcing me to be.

===================

TL:DR

1) Nobody "needs" videogames; they're luxury goods, not food and water.

2) Nobody who is "poor" has the right to complain that a gifted game isn't being sent to them... a true gift is something willingly given to you that you either did not expect or did not know you'd receive. Otherwise it would be called a tax.

3) Generous gifters aren't people to be used, but rather to be thanked and rewarded for their generosity.

w..what? That made no sense at all. There is nothing that you, or anyone else, could report about my previous comments that would get me in trouble.

About your childish "I'm rubber and you're glue" response... what can I say... no comment. You're making a fool of yourself. Do you know what the word "opportunistic" even means?

Anyway, it doesn't matter. In retrospect, I definitely went overboard with this whole thing and you don't seem to have changed your views so we might as well end it here.

Good day.

Dissapointed? wtf?

Go work, get mula, buy the game, quit whining?

Don't rely on this website to become a spoilt child/man (shame on you!).

You are entitled to your opinion like any other human being but seriously this was better off if it was never started, it's comments like yours that can make a difference in a community, by driving away great contributors, so be quiet.

You should really start to show some appreciation instead of crying that you cant enter contributor giveaways. Do you see me crying that I cant enter this giveaway? No? Its because these giveaways are more of a thank you to the people that help keeping this site alive. There would be no giveaways at all if everyone would just leech here, keep that in mind.

Mike gives so many games away, I think he can do contributor giveaways whenever he wants. He does give away games to the public and privately that are expensive as well, it's his choice on what and how the gift he gives should be given.

I do see your point though, there have been many many contributor giveaways, and many of the "normal" giveaways are games that have been in bundles or aren't very "great". So many giveaways now have over 500 entries because of so many contributor giveaways that people can't enter. It really is saddening to new members who have a low chance of receiving a game, and might turn their back on the community.

Nonetheless... I strayed too far from the topic. Basically, Mike can do what he wants :P
