One of the most legendary European matches I have ever seen, Dortmund played La Coruna in the UEFA Cup round of 16 in 1994. After losing in Spain 1.0, Borussia made it 1:0 after 90 minutes in their home game. But La Coruna scored in extra time and due to the away goals rule, Borussia had to score two goals to advance.to the next round. This could be done in impressive fashion in the last four minutes, with 18-year old Lars Ricken scoring the decisive goal.

It's like that Manchester United final against Bayer Monachium, if I remember correctly.

Yeah, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer were two of my childhood heroes after watching the '99 Champions League Final. I even bought a Norway jersey shortly after this match. :-)

For me, my childhood hero (also best player in history) will be Zinedine Zidane. I had few jerseys with his name :D One from national team and two or three from his clubs.
EDIT: BTW, don't you have a feeling that today football is, well, worse that in past. Maybe it's nostalgia but when I see players today, I see pretty ladies (created by sport labs and tens of specialists) that make too much money. Technology is slowly trying to take over, taking from us chance to ever experience something like Maradonas 'Hand of God' again and everything can be done if you have enough money.
Sure, back then players wasn't playing for nice word and hot meal, and people wanted to make money on that sport, but at least players itself was more real. They were actually warriors, like Zidane, Figo, Roberto Carlos or guys you have mentioned. They were real mans. And what do we have today? Actors, pretty ladies, and guys on hormones.

Sadly, you're so damn right. My favourite players from Dortmund are all more-or-less "working-first" players and most of them spent nearly their whole career at the same club (Lars Ricken, Florian Kringe, Leonardo Dédé, Ebi Smolarek, Kevin Großkreutz...).
