The concept of freedom didn't exist until we created it, late at night in a bar. We also invented sunshine. You're welcome, World.

We have the best coffee and tobacco, no doubt about it.
My grandfather from my mother's side sold the former, from my father's side the latter.

Well huh, what country is that? I'd guess somewhere in SA since I love most coffee I've tried from there, and I used to smoke way too much tobacco, but most of it was probably from NA.

The mushroom stealing has its roots very deep here. Whole families are raiding innocent forests to gather baskets and baskets of mushrooms during the season. It may not sound that bad but it's devastating both for the nature and the folks, as there are thousands of thieves lost forever in the woods annually.
The other tradition is to build slums in the "nature" – just behind the city borders, most likely near the railroad. It may look like a paradise but it really is not. People living there are so poor they have to grow their own food – these are not tool sheds, oh no, up to 4 people live in each. Also no running water, barely electrified. They are near to every town that has more than ~4000 inhabitants. In my city of 100 000 there are about 20 of those "Garden colonies" – that's how we pejoratively call them. And people from there are "silly redneck gardeners."
Sadly, these facts are actually very true, I lost my two little brothers while stealing mushrooms. :(

Not sure if telling the truth, or just very creative story...

So you lost your brothers for good in the forest? I am so sorry :( I don't know what to say, other than express deepest condolences.
Why do people still do it, they have no other choice and need the food?
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes! Too bad there are no mushrooms in winter. That's how I lost my sisters.
Brb, gonna eat some cardboard.
