Post a quick comment of what country/region you're from (or don't if you're uncomfortable with posting info like that). I want to take a vacation soon. :D

Hi! I'm from Italy, Naples. :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Managed to visit Venice a couple years ago. I'd love to check out the other regions, though... somewhere less tourist-y. Any recommendations?
Comment has been collapsed.
If you prefer cities with tourist monuments to visit , then Rome , Florence and Naples are important milestones for Italy . If you prefer destinations to go to sea , you should Capri ( though expensive ) , Ischia or the Island of Elba.

France! I dare you to say baguette, I dare you I DOUBLE DARE YOU
We just had a big celebration involving fireworks in pretty much every city too. (14th of July) So consider it for next year!
Hope you enjoy wherever you go~

My wife's favorite city is Paris (shocker there... haha). I imagine we'll tour the countryside when we end up going again. Thanks!

You shall be spared for making me discover this. (•ω•)

If I have to recommend another city than Paris, it will be Lyon, I spent one week-end there and I loved it.

Malaga, Spain :)

Two of my friends are there for the summer. They seem to be loving it!

Malaga fair is the next month. I hope they keep around until then, it is the best time to travel here

I'm from Denmark =3
Comment has been collapsed.
How do you like it there? I don't here many people vacationing to Denmark... maybe a hidden gem?
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, the weather mostly isn't that good (although it CAN be very nice) and I think we are a pretty expensive country, so meh =P. Of course we have nice things too, but since I live here I would always go somewhere else on vacation. I don't think I can help you very much ^^.
I hope you find a nice place to visit and that you have a good time there =).

Germany. Not worth the trip!
Comment has been collapsed.
I almost stopped by on my last time in EU... Any favorite cities there?
Comment has been collapsed.
In Germany? Well, it depends on what you are aiming for. Art, Architecture, People, Party, Clothing... Probably Berlin is the place to go for most tourists and all the aspiring hipster teens are dreaming about moving there, but I personally didn't enjoy it 4 years ago, but just because we didn't plan anything. A friend and I just said "Hey wanna go to Berlin before we start our new jobs?" And 2 days later we were there.
So what are you looking for when visiting a place?
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm an outdoorsy kind of guy. So I enjoy lots of natural scenery and really old architecture. Keep me away from the crowds!! :D
Comment has been collapsed.
I haven't really explored much of that part around Germany, but I used to be in Rheinland-Pfalz a lot as I had some friends and gigs there when I used to DJ.
We did some "Wein Wanderungen", basically drinking wine and hiking through the vineyards. Mayschoß was one place there and basically every little town around it is filled with vineyards, fresh air and beautiful spots to enjoy the nature. It was cathartic for me to breath such fresh air and see so many skies in the sky for once.

I can only recommend Dresden! Such a beautiful city, I love it. Might be a bit crowded from time to time maybe, I'm not so sure though, since I'm rarely there anymore.

I'm from Poland... but let's be honest. Who the hell would want to come here ? Haha :}
Have fun on your vacations :>

I seem to believe there are lots of Polish users here on SG. At least you guys know a good website when you see one!
Comment has been collapsed.
I actually recomend visiting Poland :) But after making good research - we have many overrated places and a lot of less known, but totally worth to visit :) Also some well known and worth visiting (like Wieliczka mine).

Are you kidding? Never been to any big town or tourist spot because I mostly visit relatives there but pszczyna is beautiful little place to go to.
I've also been to the Tyskie brewery in tychau (?) which was awesome 'cause beer, but I haven't seen much besides that.

Croatia here, recently known for having the city (Dubrovnik) which stood for King's Landing in Game of Thrones.
Comment has been collapsed.
Surprisingly enough, I've never seen the show. All my friends are telling me to watch it, but I can't seem to get into TV shows that much. :( I've heard good things about Croatia though!

Comment has been collapsed.
"NY? I love the Big Apple!" I'm sorry you have to associate with NYC to most strangers. I do love the fall, and have always wanted to head up that way around that time of the year.

I am about 2 hours from the Big Apple, the whole state is not yet part of Mega City 1.

USA here as well :)

I don't have a (single) country where I'm from... Born in the UK, childhood in Canada, teen years up to present in Poland (Polish parents). Toronto is an amazing city, and I quite like Warsaw as well, but I'm no party-goer (our out-of-house goer for that matter), so I wouldn't know where to spend vacations...
Comment has been collapsed.
Toronto isn't too far away from me, so I imagine I'll be visiting there before I die. Thanks for sharing.

The three things that always amaze me there are the quietness of most downtown residential areas, the Eaton Centre and the surrounding streets, and the huge number of cultural sorta-districts (I used to live really close to Koreatown, for example. All of those are worth seeing IMO.
As to Warsaw... the centre and the old town are nifty, but you've got to keep in mind that most of the city is at most 70 years old, due to it being leveled in WWII. Even the old town and the castle are mostly reconstructed, albeit in their original style. The Złote Tarasy (Golden Terraces) shopping centre is a sight to behold, and it's worth going up to the cityscape viewing platform near the top of the Pałac Kultury i Nauki (Palace of Culture and Science). The east bank of the Vistula River is a practically untouched beach and forest, a lot of people like to party there. There's also a ton of huge parks. Every time I go to look at the city from the top (I frequently go to an office skyscraper), it strikes me how much green there is. The public transportation system is really good too, with 2 metro lines, trams on most roads and buses on most streets, and each line of anything runs from 5 AM to 1 AM on the next day every 10 minutes on average, and then there are multiple night bus lines in the deep night hours every 30 minutes. It's also a very well lit and safe city (at least where I live), and not at all communistic and having a bad infrastructure as most of Europe tends to think. Beyond Warsaw however, it's almost like a different country, and the prices really show that.
Wow, I did not mean to go on a rant like that. Thanks for letting me rethink how fortunate I am to be in this city :3

Also from the USA. I haven't done much traveling, but from where I have been I've most enjoyed New York City and camping in the mountains in Georgia. Thanks for the giveaway! :)

I've got an adopted brother and sister from Ukraine, so I can imagine the culture is somewhat similar to theirs. My parents said is was cold and rainy for a month straight. :/

From Turkey, Istanbul. It's freaking hot here right now T_T
Comment has been collapsed.
I can't say I know too much about Turkey. Do you like it there?
Comment has been collapsed.
The people here are nice once they consider you "one of the them"(ONE OF US! ONE OF US!) The food is great, in fact that will be the biggest thing I'll miss once I leave the country. The weather is pretty fun, going through from storms to heat levels where you can cook eggs on the sidewalk on a sunny day(Adds a new meaning to sunny side up, eh?). All in all, I'd recommend at least coming to Turkey for traveling a bit and enjoying the food.

East side of Holland (the best side). Come visit.

I've visited London, but I'm from the US. I had a soccer/football tournament there in 2005 and stayed for about 10 days. It was extremely hot and only rained for 2 hours the whole time! Couldn't believe it...

Extremely hot? You sure you weren't high or something?
Comment has been collapsed.
90+ degrees (not sure what that is in C) almost every day. The sun was intense.

Alright, about 30C+. Surprisingly hot for good ol' rainy England, but you know. Glad you had good weather I guess.
