Well, for me, 3.5 km would be pushing it. Not because of the distance as such, but I'd hate to have to get up so early. :-) Biking is fun, but in elementary school, one of our teachers kept secretly deflating friend's tires the whole year, because he annoyed her. When we were finishing the school, she finally told us it had been her all along. I bought her a bicycle wheel as a farewell gift, so she could keep on practicing. :-)

I'm fairly sure she couldn't. At least back then, the situation in our education system still resembled the left part of the image more than the right one. Since then, things have moved a bit towards the situation on the right (meh...), but I still think that regarding education, this is a very reasonable and at the same time laid-back country. She could have gotten a reproachful look by her colleagues or the parents. ;-) Also, that kid started carrying a small bike pump in his bag, so even the inconvenience was only minor.
