I'll just note that despite the number of comments which seem to imply people have finished the puzzle, there are still only 2 people entered in the giveaway. I think someone has succeeded in making a puzzle that almost nobody can solve. Oh well.
Well, according to the last itstoohard step, 4 people managed to get to the GA. One commented that he had solved it despite not having the required level, 2 commented and entered, and one is a mystery - didn't comment or enter. There are a few more comments because I discussed with one of the solvers. your tone sounds suspicious but I've made quite a lot of puzzles in the past, and they were all manageable. I'll tell you what, in general I had good feedback on them. few people succeeded in solving this one 1) because it has several steps so more chances to get stuck 2) some people just can't think outside of the box, or they can find themselves facing a type of puzzle they never encountered before 3) the requirements are a bit restrictive 4) the reward isn't tremendously attractive
I see that frustration, I know it well because I've felt it too when sometimes, trying to solve hard puzzles, I hit a wall and got stuck. But it would never come to my mind to go complaining against the creator of a puzzle just because I failed at taking his challenge. Failing is ok, I'm not punishing you for it. I'm actually trying to reward those who get to the end. Please don't hold it against me. Over 200 users started trying it, many failed long before the step YOU reached. Now imagine these 200 venting in the thread like you are doing. Wouldn't it be a funny sight ?
I suggest you take your complaint there, for everyone to see, so other people can give me feedback and see if it was indeed so hard.
edit : whoops, I apologize, I didn't mean to sound so harsh. Feedback is always good I guess, I just think feedback regarding difficulty is only valid when you've completed it - because otherwise you risk simply having missed something obvious.
Mew's famous puzzles were always with a "Mew's difficulty level : ****" mention with stars indicating the level of difficulty. If anything, I might consider this addition for future puzzles :-D
One question: I am stuck here and been unable to progress. Do I need some photo editing software to find the next link? I'm pretty low tech, and that might also explain why only a handful of people have been able to progress beyond here.
