When I was new to trading, I got a scammer that, after taking my key, feel sorry about me because I was very nice to him. Then he told me to wait. Next day he gave me what I was looking for. After that, I started to be very careful in trades

Yeah. I've never ignored a friend request yet though. I give them at least an hour to say anything, then I remove them. Unless they start off with those obvious badly phrased trade requests, then I just delete them and report them. I hope I'm not wasting too much time on that.

Wow, is the guy genuinely interested in making a friend? That's never happened to me before. Steam definitely needs to step up its game when it comes to this, because the people affected by this are the inexperienced Steam users who get burnt and lose all their stuff. I was lucky in that I had an experienced friend who told me about this before they started to try to phish me.
I feel safer now that there's Steam mobile authentication available, but I don't see a sure-fire way of solving the underlying sickness, only ways to cure the symptoms. What Valve can do without any negative effects is spread info on the subject. Sure, they could look into IP addresses and other ways of tightening control, but just like with the fight against piracy with DRM, the honest users get punished too (for example, many accounts on one IP might indicate bots, but could simply be a family).
