The Story:

(4/14)

Someone up ahead is crying with such despondency that it could cull even the devil's compassion. It stems from the first bench before the altar, from a young girl coated in a bright red mantle. Her feet are perched on the seat, her head buried in her knees around which her arms are crossed. You want to approach her, but feel constricted in your movement, as if your own strength has been robbed from you. You toil over every step down the aisle, but you refuse to be bested by this invisible force. You persist until, eventually, you reach the girl, and kneel before her. With a comforting voice, you ask her name. She looks up with bright blue eyes filled with dolour, just as surprised to see you here as you are to see her. With a quivering lip and a trembling voice, she speaks to you.

Hear the girl out >

Personal note:

I can't comment on the correlation with its predecessors since this is the first Devil May Cry game I ever played, but I had a blast with it from start to finish. It borders on frat boy "baditude" a little too often for my taste, but more than makes up for it with some highly creative ideas and stylishly blazing combat.

Question:

What's the scariest prank someone fooled you with, or that you fooled someone else with?

Mine happened just last Halloween actually. I was with a few others on a late-night Halloween walk, organised by a local group of boy scouts. You know, they're dressed up, trying to scare you along the way. At some portions they built impressive sets, at others they just jumpscare you. To give you some indication, this journey lasts a whopping two and a half hours, yet is so popular that you always have plenty of other people around you. Anyway, at a certain point, the walk goes through the forest and we can barely see anything. I look to my side, and I could swear I saw a pale face in the distance, staring at me through the trees. As I focus on that face, another organizer that was lying in the bushes in the cold mud at the other side of the dirt path suddenly grabbed my ankle. Man, I shot up like a rocket. Of all people he could've picked, he picked me! Goddamn it.

Thank you!

Actually related to a group of Boy Scouts as well. I worked at a Scout camp and was in charge of a 12 person archery range, 16 person rifle range, and a couple shotguns as a certified range safety officer and instructor. I get up to the range one day and nobody else, including my staff of 5, was there. I unlocked my room with the rifle and ammo safe and as soon as I opened the door, they popped a balloon from inside the room. I was convinced there was an I.E.D. inside and had myself a heart attack. They loved it on the other hand.

Dude, you are spoiling us... When somebody scares me, my reaction is always low key... On hindsight I might be a bit of buzzkill on the matter of being pranked/scared.

When I was in high school one day we went out with friends and decided to go just sit on the castle walls. In my city there is a museum Castle near main square and because it's on a small hill (my whole city is hills and valleys O.o) at one side of it you can sit on wall and look at street under you. Down there is also a narrow pavement. So that day we were sitting on that wall with our legs down and I felt under my feet one brick is moving and is about to fall if only I move my leg. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I WAS THINKING but I let it go just when some guy passed us so that the brick could smash right behind him (and apparently gave him a heart attack). Honestly, that was the stupidest thing I've ever done O__O

Like I said in previous giveaway, I fear things that generally might be described as "medical". Even though my family is aware of that, my dad put a blood pressure meter on my arm as a joke. It ended in me panicking, feeling badly, getting very pale, almost fainting and recovering for a next hour ;_; Great prank, really :^)

Then left him like that. 3 lessons he just sit on his desk waiting until he found out about the date.

My sister had a birthday party and was doing a seance in the basement. I crept downstairs and hid on the other side of the wall. There is an opening where a pipe for our wood stove used to be and I stuck my head through and said "Here's Johnny!" Suffice to say there was a hoard of young girls screaming and running upstairs with myself laughing the whole time.

I think the most I have scared someone is when I walked up to my brother and he didn´t hear me walk. When I realized that he hadn't noticed it turned into a very fun (for me) jump scare.

Cannot recall any specific scary prank. I guess most have been kinda mild and in the range of stating something horrible and continuing with "just kidding". Gratitude for pranking devils.

hmm - when I was 11 or so my cousins were visiting (all 13 of them) for a family reunion.. we were allowed to stay up to watch a nightmare on elms st marathon. At around 3 am with we're watching the 4th or 5th one, and my uncle dresses in his Rabbitoes jersy (same colours and pattern as Freddies), grabs some gardening shears and scapes the windows.
We 5H17 ourselves.
