Look at the lamp that is currently not working.
Make sure you turn the switch off. This will prevent you from being electrocuted.
If the bulb you are replacing is still working, let it cool down for about 30 seconds or more. If there is no bulb it is ok to skip this step.
Remove the burnt out lamp and dispose of it properly. If you don't have a burnt out bulb to dispose of it is ok to proceed to next step.
Fit the new bulb. Do not over-tighten or press on the bulb too hard.
Turn on the light switch to make sure the bulb works. If light does not work double check to make sure you installed a new bulb. {see prior step}
Make sure you don't get shocked. To do this, turn the switch off before you begin and don't turn it back to on until you're finished.

I just removed the bulb from my working lamp ( step 3 ) so I figured that I could just skip step one and two. Didn't turn it off, because that was step 2, and I didn't realize until I was finished already that I was supposed to shut it off ( step 7 where you say to turn it off before you begin ) needless to say it was pretty painful, but I got through it.
Still, good instructions for replacing a non-working light bulb, but you might want to move step 3 up to step 2 and save some others some of the suffering that I went through. Thanks for Fortix.
