My favorite alien invasion film is John Carpenter's The Thing. I don't know of any film that is anywhere near as suspenseful, and it's aged quite well.
I had heard of it, seen/read a bit about the gameplay, but never had the chance to play it. It'd be nice if they re-released it or made a remake. Then again, getting the rights to the game sorted out might be difficult. :/
