It doesn't help in case of regifters, they normally got levels from their 'regifts', all you can do is report them. And ask steam support to get it back ( or perhaps ask for a refund )

And the stupid thing is the support here no longer deletes the games that they re-gifted so they get to keep that faux contributor value, even after breaking the site rules and serving their 'slap on a wrist' suspension.... assuming it even gets that far, which is dubious at best because the vast majority of user reports do not get processed for several months (if ever).

My understanding was that it is because some members of the support staff have not been given certain permissions/abilities that they ideally need to do the tasks properly. The blame lies higher up in the hierarchy where the decision making is made. I wish I could tell you that it is an aberration and an isolated example, but I would be lying.

Are you saying the last guy tried to re-gift Fallout 4? If so, I had no idea. Unlike in the 'old days', deleted giveaways are no longer shown. Anyway one case is a small sample size though. I have seen plenty of instances where re-gifters have kept their ill-gotten gains, even those that were caught.

I submitted user reports diligently for awhile but I don't even bother anymore. Nothing against you personally, but I find it a bit disingenuous (especially on the part of the staff) when people in general parade the rules around, claiming that "this is the way that it should be done" -- all while the process usually takes several months for anyone to even look at one of those tickets (if at all). And precisely because of that it renders the rules of the site toothless, nor with any real meaning in the end. And even in cases where they are enforced in a manner that isn't delayed by months, the perpetrator generally gets off with a mere slap on the wrist. If a society operated this way its citizens would be up in arms, and rightfully so.

We do delete them, there's just quite the backlog due to an unintentional limitation on how many giveaways can be deleted by a moderator per day. I spoke with the admin again just yesterday about it.
