Haha, got the 5 giveaways/characters easily, but took me forever to figure out the rabbit. If I hadn't put it in a notepad, I probably wouldn't have noticed the shape :P

Ah, I have fond memories of the original RotT from my childhood.

I went the permutation way, and it's always one of the last ones, isn't it? :P

Me too. And yeah it's always the last ones. 114th in this case.

Nice puzzle! Also one of the first I solved without using Google (in my short puzzling career that is).

No brute forcing required, I surprised myself!

The hint is very good. Now I did not even have to try the codes to know which ones are the right ones. (are there any good games in the 5 giveaways that I missed? ;) well, I guess I will check later.)
The hint saved me all the brute forcing I at first expected to need, or the research how a white rabbit looks different from a brown one ;)

Very nice puzzle :)

By the way I guess I would have found my way here without the hint, I haven't really tried before since there still was lots of time left, but the hint turned it into a quick solve for me.

The big five are mostly bad games, except for the \, which is supposed to be ok.

Thanks for the puzzle. Python didn't help me but C for sure did.

This was a strange experience: I had seen the puzzle not too long after you posted it, but I was feeling really lazy at the time, so I only skimmed over the description, because I figured I would have to think more about it and just put it on hold. Later however, as I was bruteforcing an answer for another puzzle, I reloaded your page and there was this tiny, but very important hint! So with its help, I managed to solve it almost effortlessly while trying different answers for the other puzzle. :) It's funny how the brain works sometimes and thank you for the interesting puzzle!

I'm going to go ahead and say that your puzzles are probably my favorite to find here, tevemadar. I've only had an opportunity to do the rat brain puzzle, the compilation puzzle, and this one, but they all seem to strike the perfect balance between fun and challenging. They are obviously very difficult and time-consuming to create, or at least they seem more difficult to create than they are to solve, and I sincerely appreciate the time you put into them. Your puzzles are unique and so very satisfying to complete. Thank you very much for the time you take to make these puzzles, and thank you for the giveaways.

By the way...what's the significance of 189? Is that another puzzle? A separate puzzle? A continuation of this puzzle?

Edit: I didn't really consider it at the time, but if you think my calling out the order of the giveaways for the five leading up to this train gives too much away for the brute-forcers in the crowd, let me know and I will edit or delete my comments.

Yes, you could indeed permute those numbers. Not having the order gives a second chance to go back to the thread and perhaps notice what has been there all the time. Not sure if it is a LOL, a FCK, or an OMG moment, but the opportunity should be there I think.

OK, I changed all of my comments to, "Yay!" Sorry I didn't do it last night when I realized what I had done. I was tired, and lazy, and didn't want to take the time to solve the puzzle a second time. Of course I realized this morning that I just needed to check my history to get back to those locations again. I'm going to blame a lack of sleep on my total obliviousness last night.

Again, I'm very sorry for inadvertently dropping extra bread crumbs along the route. If there is some penance I can perform to make up for it, just let me know.

I just feel bad. It's your puzzle, and it's not my place to give extra clues. I just thought I would comment on each giveaway as I came to them, but couldn't think of anything particularly clever last night. So I just counted them off in French. I didn't think of the implications until I hit the train, and saw from the comments that some people were actually brute-forcing their way through the puzzle. That's when I realized that I probably left the people who were checking every link in that chart an extra series of clues to get here. Thanks for understanding that it was a mistake.

Still wondering about that 189, though. I can't imagine that you would have put that in the title randomly. Is it a clue for this puzzle? A different puzzle? A future puzzle? Or is it not a clue at all, and actually hinting at something else?

189 is just a number used for grouping my current puzzles. You can try converting it into different bases an perhaps figure it out, or just wait until Thursday.
