Tales of Fortix - The Knights of Ix and the Forth Fort of the Four Ticks: Part 1

The Knights of Ix, those noble souls, drenched to the bone from the foul, driving rain, still managed to carry their swords with dignity. Long had the Ixian peace reigned, the Dread God Ix had been slain, leaving the lands of Ix free from divine tyranny. The Ixian rebellions had been either quashed or completed amicably, leading to a stable state in which most were happy and those who were unhappy were allowed their freedom to express their dissatisfaction and, if possible, correct it. Ix, then, was a veritable utopia.

That was, sadly, until the Ticks arrived. Not since the long-gone days of the Dread God had the Ixian lands seen such grotesque parasites. Their castles, initially starting as tiny towers, latched onto the land and soon became bulbous, obese corpuscles. They had been designed with their dwellers in mind, that's for sure. The ticks themselves sucked the land dry of its resources, travelling around Ix with swords in hand pillaging the women and raping the livestock - or is it the other way around?

"Mwahahaha! They'll never stop us!" cried Blodge, blood on his lips and the fires of plunder in his belly. "Those Knights of Ix are nothing but pansies!"

"Yuhurr! Dat's right bawss!" replied Vom, his disgusting sidekick.

They were horrible beings, with clamping little mouths and swollen, fat bellies. They had caused a rot in some of the lands of Ix, and now the noble knights were on their way to deal with them!
