I made the announcement for the giveaway, first. Then, the next day, I made the giveaway itself, then planted the first part of the trail a bit later. I was quite surprised to have three people immediately jump on it as soon as it appeared. That part of the trail was only visible for a few seconds! Even so, user "oR" managed to see it, click on the posting, read it, enter the code for the giveway, enter the giveaway, and then post a comment, ALL IN LESS THAN 30 SECONDS. To give you a comparison, by the time I had posted my new topic, closed it, and returned to the giveaway page, he had already beat me there and commented. P

Anyway, I planted the rest of the trail, working backward, one part per day, over the next four days. By the end of the fifth day, it was all in place, leaving two days to stumble upon any part of the trail and follow it to its end.
