Description

Had to repost the giveaway with proper region restrictions. So let's start again:

What's your favorite movie and/or tv show?

Winner, please remember to redeem the key and leave feedback ASAP! Thank you! Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for the giveaway. I don't really have a favorite, I just go through phases of different things :)

I loved Mr Robot. The countries listed are the ones that may enter right ?

Yep. If you're not in any of the countries listed you shouldn't even be able to see the giveaway, I think. So since you can, the key should activate if you win it!

That should be correct; Since there's not a filter option to toggle them on (as there is with DLCs, giveaways above your level), I believe the only way to access region restricted public giveaways is by accessing the Archive (link in bottom-of-page toolbar). Further, you wouldn't be able to enter a region-restricted giveaway if you aren't in the countries listed- you'd see a "Region Restricted" box instead of an "Enter Giveaway" box, and clicking on the box would take you to the list of region restrictions (same as clicking on the region-restricted symbol next to the GA creator's name).

It's a shame I had to change the restrictions for this giveaway and exclude our friends in the UK. :( But, Fanatical says the key won't activate there. This giveaway had a lot of entries before I had to delete it the first time. Another person told me steamdb.info had more accurate region restrictions. Problem is, this game in particular has about 28 different packages, so I wasn't sure which package had accurate info for the key restrictions.

Either way, very confusing! But I don't want to make the mistake I did with my Death Stranding giveaway and find out the key won't activate in the winner's region.

Can't say I have a favorite as I love a lot of different movies and shows. Right now I've been binge watching Stargate SG1 during my free time.

Thanks for the giveaway. Favorite TV show/movie? Jeez, I'm too indecisive to pick a favorite anything... For TV, I guess I'd go with The Good Place? As for movies... I dunno, Parasite?

TV show I'd go with Red Dwarf. Consistently good comedy with plenty of seasons/series to binge on.

Movie is a tough one though. Lot of angles. A movie I could never get tired of is Escape from L.A. It's just the right amount of cheese for me and I love the soundtrack.

I don't really like watching movies or shows much since I'd rather use that time on a game, but a tv series I watched a while ago that I remember enjoying was Prison Break.

Deadwood

It is still the measuring stick that I compare all other shows against.

Favorite movie is My Dinner With Andre. I love how it’s so different from all other genres. Especially a stark contrast between my other favorite which is Alien and The Thing.

Awesome giveaway! I love how they're officially moving towards pushing turn-based play and more setting creativity in the Yakuza series (rather, I hate how there's been a push to change all RPGs into real-time action games [meaning good RPG-ish turn-based games are becoming more and more scarce], so having a game take the opposite approach is a welcome change- two, now, if we include Baldur's Gate 3. Yum).

Likewise, since I do actually like the real time brawling of the Yakuza games, it's nice they're continuing the mechanics via the Judgement series [>>], though the fact that SEGA doesn't seem to have any plans to port the series over to PC "at this time" is rather disappointing.

What's your favorite movie and/or tv show?

Really just Buffy/Angel, for TV shows. Tons of shows I like to watch, but that's the only contender for "favorite". I've got a huge number I could recommend, however, so if you've any specific context in mind, maybe I could work that list down to a postable number. :P That said, I think Cobra Kai is easily my favorite among current shows.

I'm way behind on most TV and movies. At this point I've been watching reaction videos to stuff I've already seen and pretending I have friends. I used to love Pushing Daisies and Legion (though I cut cable before I could finish the second season). I have a fond space in my heart for Dark City and The Shawshank Redemption. I'm not sure I actually have a favorite though.

Hard to pick a favourite, but if it's one I can rewatch episodes at any moment it would be the original UK Top Gear series with Richard, Jeremy, and James.

They really don't know what foot they're standing on with these region locks. Now they have European countries separate from basically everywhere else and Canada and the US? I hope this doesn't catch on or there won't be many GAs for us Euros to enter lol
Anyway I just tracked this one down to say thanks for the GAs and no worries about deleting the other one, region locks can be tricky (and are getting trickier apparently)

Favorite tv show? The (OG) Twilight Zone. (something from this century? The OA)
Favorite movie... Dude, there are too many movies, I can't pick just one! lol

So weird for this one. According to the Fanatical page, this game can be activated basically everywhere except the UK. Maybe there's a different version for the UK? I tried checking Steamdb to see if Fanatical was right, but the packages for this game in particular are all over the place. Either way, I still feel really bad the nice Russian person who won Death Stranding the other day informed me the key wouldn't work there, So i'd rather not make that mistake again for any other games :(

Also, I binged the Twilight Zone a couple years ago. That show definitely still holds up! I tried finding the 80's reboot and then the early 2000's to watch after but it seemed those disappeared from the face of the earth. Even on the high seas. Haven't seen the Jordan Peele reboot series, but I heard it's pretty meh.

I'm in France and when I check the Fanatical page for the game, it says the key I can buy there will not activate in the US or basically anywhere but Europe. It's indeed a first.

Either way, I still feel really bad the nice Russian person who won Death Stranding the other day informed me the key wouldn't work there

Eastern Europe is a pickle because of the price difference but the euro zone never was separated from the ROW keys that I know of.
Still, I know what you mean. It happened to me once with an Asian winner for a pretty nice GA and I felt really bad.

Also, I binged the Twilight Zone a couple years ago. That show definitely still holds up!

Yeah the OG Twilight Zone is timeless. Mostly I think because they are based on short stories that are about human flaws more than they are about the culture of the time.

I tried finding the 80's reboot and then the early 2000's to watch after but it seemed those disappeared from the face of the earth.

Heh yeah it's hard to find mostly failed shows from before the DVD era now. From my recollection, it's not a loss.
The Jordan Peele series is terribly meh. For one thing the episodes are overly long, some clocking near one hour duration. Doesn't work with short stories. And unlike the original show, they are terribly cultural issue centric, which could have been good if written properly but makes this one largely a miss.

Decided not to actually enter the giveaway because I know I wouldn't play it but still want to answer the TV show question because I honestly think the Hannibal TV show is the best piece of media in general that I've ever seen, but I usually hesitate to recommend it because not everyone has the stomach for watching it since it can get pretty disturbing

Is it? I loved the movie but I figured the TV Show was just some lame primetime reboot of the franchise. Guess I should give it a watch!

I would actually put Mads Mikkelsen's Hannibal above Anthony Hopkins', which people I've told have felt was blasphemy until they watched the show and then agreed. Unlike Silence of the Lambs, the show takes place before Hannibal gets caught, which means that he's also playing Hannibal the human instead of just Hannibal the monster and he's that much more intimidating for it
