Solution part hints:
- 45° of multiplication
- its easier math than multiplication, like 2×2=4
- don't overthinking, stay here for a while, take the second hint and try apply first one (the equation is not accidental):D
- also don't waist your time with randome codes, when you create good table you will see patern in both of them :D
2×2 = 2 (45° rotation of ×) 2 = 4

thanks for the extra hint, I was going in a completely different direction with Q2 (I thought plural sticks were used simultaneously, and that they would be smaller ...)
Also, my first thought for Q1 was apothecary table, which made me think of this, but then the next connection was this ^^
