Why? :D You made really good GA to bump topic, which can help people deal with their depression. I think that it's worth saying "thanks" more personally than posting bump in original topic.
I don't enter in GAs for games that doesn't interest me. I don't think that it's ok to enter just to farm cards or have +1 to library when someone might really want to have certain game. The only exception is when I see whitelist GA and creator doesn't have these 5 entries. But before entering I ask if it is ok to be just "filler" entrant :D
Funny thing is that I was avoiding HOGs for really long time. But in the end I told myself "well I can try this genre" and I really like it xD
But I have kind of success. My friend was playing only into COD-like and NFS-like games without carying about plot at all. I started to play with her in Dead Island: Riptide and at some point she said "you know, this plot is in fact fun" :D
I played in Deponia series, but was sometimes frustrated that I was walking around without having idea what to do next and have to look into guides. In HOGs (well I played only into 2 from AM, I don't know if it include every single HOG) I was able to play whole without any kind of guides plus I like these small puzzle parts.
And picture about digging up: well actualy I don't think it'd be good if I win lots of them in a row. I'd be overwhelmed by it xD
I'm not sure if making moves like doing a skippy uppy from someone's backbone is proper way of giving back or ensure (s)he's not alone :D.

Then again, I've enough friends that don't get why I enjoy visual novels, trying to convince them HOGs are worthwhile is a challenge :P
