Almost. We know who the owners of eBay are. It's a company on the stock market with control over it. What do we know about G2A? That it is registered in Poland and seems to be the front of some Russians. As far as we know it really can be a money laundering site with its zero transparency.
Also, eBay has fraud protection enabled by default. G2A makes you BUY it as an optional service. This not smells, but reeks.

If not a first-hand one, my experience is the following : seeing a lot of people getting fucked by G2A, all of them getting angry and throwing a tantrum on Sniper Elite 3 Steam forums, threatening with lawsuits and whining and going all "hurr durr I buyed with moneh now my gaem is gone, your fault Rebellion". Pathetic.
Taking the risk with G2A, with your own money ? Sure, why not, if you think the prices are worth it, you're a grown-up after all. I don't judge. I do stupid and reckless things myself every once in awhile.
On the other hand, disregarding what happened to all those poor fuckers before, and still recommending the service, that's a dick move. I chose to be cautious, and that's the advice I'll give to the next one.

Its legit yeah. I've been using it for over a year now. Haven't been scammed once, even made enough money off referrals to buy a few games. Their support is really quick and efficient too, and has sorted out the few minor problems I've run into.
Don't buy the "random keys" though. Trust me.

The question is how legit is it. You'll probably get the keys you order (though I wouldn't trust random, just because there's not enough transparency and the marketplace system means who knows what you're actually getting, it could just be someone offloading their extra bundle games), but individual sellers are significant- higher rep means more chance of getting what you pay for. I've never used G2A, because they never had anything that particularly interested me, but I suppose they're decent if you're willing to use paypal and be safe.

just today actually I bought COD BO2 because $60 is absurd for a 3 year old game, my rule for buying off of G2A is generally just that the seller must have 200000 or more positive ratings, I have never been ripped off

Ive bought some things in G2A and everything went great (i didnt had anything to lose since the money i used were 10 Eur giftcard i won on facebook xD) but i bought 2 games there and didnt encounter any trouble and was pretty fast...
But how the people already said this place is full of resellers and shady people... i think their paypal weekend offers are more trustworthy since its G2A the one providing the keys and not some shady trader... I would exercise caution when buying from people that doesnt have any rep at all

I think it's pretty easy to decide. Positive replies goes with arguments and examples. Negative ones are just single sentences that prooves nothing. Also, I sa a topic about that shop on some Polish forum and 'reviews' was positive so if I would be in your situation I would try to buy something. If you are scared buy some cheap indie title at first, and then thing about somethin more expensive.

The first answer says it all. Explains it as well. So what do you need more? Most of the time you get what you paid for. If you take the extra insurance g2a offers they will resolve any problems if necessary but you do not know where the game came from. Can be from a stolen credit card.

Those teams have a reputation and play with high budgets for great awards. Would they endanger to accept any kind of sponsorships from scammers? No.

Hey dude , I buy almost all my games for G2A or just Steam sales , otherwise Steam games are too expensive to enjoy a lot of them for me
its perfectly legit , don't forget to buy G2A shield and buy from people with a lot of good reviews , its just like ebay
the support helped me get a refund on a used key pretty much instantly , they only give 3 days for the seller to give you a new code or you get a refund.
There have been some problems with Uplay keys , so I would suggest staying away from those , but Steam games are perfectly fine

They are NOT AUTHORIZED and they are NOT LEGIT.
They are as 'Legit' as any Unknown Seller trying add and trade you on Steam since they 'welcome' those sellers, advertise their keys and get their commission from the sale. That's all. Simply G2A Player Market is truly a gambling. On the other hand G2A Shop itself can sell mass keys which somewhat more trustworthy but not advised again.
They have a useless moneyback guarantee system charging you every month without asking for confirmation and do not help you at all in case of conflict like a player market seller decides to scam you (in my case).
Positive feedback will come from players that not have been screwed yet or from the ones that are very cautious. If you 'Google' G2A with famous youtubers, you'll see even once G2A advertising youtubers now told them they are not trustworthy...

Heh, I don't remember making a thread about G2A though I did make one about GMG. Still, I don't find the thing with GMG my fault as they didn't even bother to notify me that their key was region locked. All I did when I had this annoying experience with G2A was talking to my friend who has had a similar experience. Heh, it turned out to be fun after all, as the support member's English was terrible.

I bought Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, several codes for giveaways I did at many places, including SG, I've sold more than 20 games there which made me 24€ in total, just extras from bundles before I did giveaways. And lastly I had 8€ left in my G2A, that I decided to leave the site, so I had the 8€ paid out to my paypal as 7€ and I'm okay with it. Quite positive on my part.

G2A themselves do not sell keys directly from developers like you find on Steam or GMG. Other people obtain keys and sell them on this website. G2A sells a sort of "insurance" they call G2A Shield for about a dollar that guarantees you get a working key. I have personally bought keys from this site and never had a problem with any key obtained, although I would still recommend G2A Shield because, as mentioned above, you do not know 100% what you are getting. As for the random keys they sell... I wouldn't buy them, as they are mostly just worthless games you wouldn't want to buy, but there is a very small chance you could get a decent game... It's basically a straight lottery with that.
In short - I've bought from G2A no problem, so I don't see any reason why you shouldn't.

It depends on seller.But you can buy extra protection against scammers for 1 euro(it only is for one product so if yo buy 10 you have to pay 10 euro) and this works pretty well(I encountered 3 scammers so far 2 of those i got refund and this one...Random keys.Don't buy them you'll only get in trouble or spend money)
btw. always check how many positeve transactions seller has.Watch number first then compare to negatives(seller with 20 positive and no negative is worse than with 1999 positive and 1 negative right?)

The problem here is that people shouldn't have to pay extra for assurance that G2A will deal with scammers or illegal keys. That should be part of their standard operation to ensure quality of service. The fact they want you to pay extra for this where any reputable source would do this anyway is a big red flag.

but their margin of making money is quite low without the shield , thus they can't provide the same level of customer service ebay does

they take 8% + .35€ + .15€, if you sell something there. and extra fees for renewal of an auction, or if you want to change the price. last time i checked, eBay took 9% plus some initial fees. doesn't sound like too much of a difference to me.

There is also the issue that if the seller obtained their keys through shady means, these games that you got 'without problem' can in fact be revoked at a later date. It's always best to keep an eye on these purchases for a month or so after acquisition just to be sure they don't magically vanish from your steam account.

G2A is not an official retailer, and as such, are prone to facilitating the sale of duplicate or illegal keys. There is a reason why their keys are often significantly cheaper than those found by any other actual retailer. Whenever you buy from G2A you are taking a risk. While a game may initially be redeemed and work fine, there is always the chance for it to be later revoked if a seller was found to have used an illegal method of gathering the keys.
Also consider that while their prices are cheap, those prices are without VAT and the 'shield' option. You have to manually select your taxation locale during checkout, and failure to do so can have your item revoked. Without purchasing the 'shield', if the key you receive is a duplicate, incorrect or simply doesn't work for whatever reason, G2A will be quite happy to totally ignore your complaints. You are literally paying them to moderate the transactions on their own site. While the keys are sometimes from a legit source (some people simply buy keys by bulk during sales for the express purpose of reselling them to a profit on places like G2A), other times they are from a source that can be revoked outright (such as reselling keys expressly marked as not for resale).
The "random keys" are in fact NOT random as they say. The name implies that they will give you a random key from their stock, however, they give you a random key from a shortlist. A shortlist that is made up entirely of games that were available for free, or from the lowest-tier of dollar bundles and the like. If you look on youtube there are people who recorded purchasing packs of 10 of these so-called 'random' keys, only to find many duplicates, and a good number of the games were all free at some point.
In my own experience, trying to pay through paypal automatically tries to sign you up for a recurring monthly subscription of the 'shield' with an offer of the first month free, however if you want to cancel the subscription, they only allow you to do so in the last two days of the billing month, meaning you may accidentally forget and get charged anyway.

G2A is not an outright scam, however they are not an official retailer and have a history of facilitating bad key transactions. Even those that work can be later revoked, depending on your luck with each seller. Unless you purchase the 'shield' option, submitting a ticket about a bad key is likely to be just completely ignored, whereas any reputable seller would moderate their own business like this for free. You CAN get cheap games there, but you have to use three times as much caution than buying anywhere else. Compare the after-tax after-shield prices carefully, as sometimes it's worth just paying the little extra money to guarantee a legit copy from a normal retailer. The best use of G2A isn't to buy new games on the cheap, but rather, to pick up a game you missed on a sale, as the prices tend to reflect the recent low price-points.
G2A works, however you need to use a lot more caution. It's not a scam, but it's also not an official retailer.
