Halo 2 servers have been shut down as far as i know, so you would only get the singleplayer when you buy it. And also why would they release a game on steam after the servers are shut down, I don't really think there will be a release but I still hope Halo 3 is coming to PC.

Official servers have been down but as far as I know you can still play Private servers or private hosts to play LAN through like Tunngle or that other LAN device.

Ahem... Age of Empires II? If you played that game you would know that the online servers were also shutdown but this new version that will arrive on Steam, uses Steam servers for online playing, so what I'm saying is that if Halo games came to Steam too they would probably use steam servers for online playing.

Microsoft commented to gamespot saying that they had no plans on releasing Halo 1,2,3 on steam at all.

Halo Combat Evolved On Steam ...Lets play :) Wonder if I can use my halo cd key or just spend another $20.00 for it again..The latest update will let you play without the cd in the tray...Idk this is my big wishlist though to have the halo pc community back up and running like it was before...minus the aimbot users/hackers.
