Hi you all! I just wanted to say that those who put contributor limit in their giveaways that they can set the limit instead on for example: 10$, better fix on 9,99$, or instead 50$, set it on 49,99$.
Why? Because the prices in Steam are set in X,99$ and maybe like me, other people couldn't get to enter a giveaway just for 0,01$ even having done a giveaway.
Thanks for your attention! ^^

EDIT: Rectification on the long text I put below.

Thanks to SteamGifts Plus I don't even see GAs I can't enter. Seriously, why bother? My CV is 30 due to giving only bundled games 'cause I had them before, but I have no reason to go beyond that limit, I don't really care about that. It seems to me that people see GAs more like an investment rather than a gift, it's stupid. If you can afford giving a lot of cheap games, why don't you save that money and buy the game you want instead?

The problem is that those tiny fractions add up. $9.99 isn't going to solve the problem on a $10 entry, because someone could easily end up with $9.84 with enough rounding hiccups.

It appears that some Blacklists will be growing as a result of comments made in this thread methinks.

IIRC you can use them in Private or Group giveaways without permission but don't quote me on that.

Nope. You need permission for a blacklist at all, and then you can only use it in groups/private giveaways.

You can't use blacklist or special rules at all without permission.

So this thread is basically a whine from people who are upset that people exclude them from giveaways with the amount of CV set, yet have absolutely no intention of giving away enough themselves to become eligible for these giveaways?

What a bunch of self entitled wankers. Why should anyone bother giving away at all?

You just have convinced me to set CV to 30.01 on my next giveaway.

I've never seen my name in a blacklist, even though I'm subtly trying to be a dick to everyone :( I just want to be special and see my name on a list .. but it should be a list just for myself, so I can feel really special ...
Man, you got me all excited, thinking it was the DLC .. oh well, thanks anyway.

I feel this post was counter productive in the fact that anyone here who gives away things will probably up the amount just because of reading this.

Maybe, maybe not. I for one haven't created a single GA with CV requirement yet, and I'm not about to start doing so because of some people complaining they don't get enough free stuff.

Well, after reading all the comments (yes, ALL) I'll post a long text, and maybe it will be taken agai like I'm complaining about you all, or forcing the people to do something they don't want to, but I don't care.

First, I'm not english, so sorry if don't explain myself very well ^^U And, you can believe me or not, it's your option, it's just my point of view.

I had no idea of something like this page, was a fantastic discover for me. When I first came here I was amazed on how the people can make giveaways just because they want, so remarkable, really. I saw the CV too and thought: "Well it's a nice way to reward people for their contribution." I think that's the main reason for CV.

I don't have so much money, I'm a student who lives with his parents and just buy games by offers, bundles and I think that's all. I even bought games for my friends and for my cousin, and of course, my girlfriend; I can't afford many more and I always thought that if in a bundle some of the games they were I already got it, I'll do a GA for this community.
After all, I thought the CV, for some people (NOT ALL), it's just a reason to feel like they are better than others, comments like: "Gift moar", "Says the guy with X CV" maybe can relate this. Well I don't have the money to do so, and have people I play with that are first if I have a game they don't, if you have it and do GA it's nice that you do so and I bow to you all, I'm sincere here.

The post was not for saying you what to do, the reason for what I made was because the CV is nice for reward people that give to community games, but I saw CV with 10$ and thought: "damn >.< for just 0.01 I can't enter even with a GA done..." and surely I was too impulsive creating this topic, and I realised after a seconds of that, and wanted even to delete it. I'm sorry if someone felt offended with what I said but was with no harming intention :S Most of you can see me like a leech but this page was made for making GA and can't make me feel guilty if I enter in GAs that I can join. I keep thinking you are amazing for creating GA to people that maybe can't afford buy games, or just for people that want to augment their Steam libraries, whatever.

Hope you guys don't take again my words like I was whining for what you do, because that's not true, I was just saying something that I thought and was a mistake for my part, you'll put the CV you think it's ok and that's all.

Cheers.

Good on you :) I'm sure I speak for most of the website when I say we understand that not everyone has money they can use to buy games for other people. So don't feel bad if you cant.

You're right, the majority of the comments were arguing about CV itself.
And anyway your text wasn't towards for me, I'll keep it in mind, it's a good point.
Thanks for your words ^^

Yeah, don't worry too much about it.

I understand the feeling of seeing a giveaway for a game you want but are just short of the required CV. However, considering the odds of winning and the volume of giveaways in that range of CV, in the long run those small differences in CV don't matter much. For example, if your average chances of winning a certain game are 1%, even if you can only enter half of all them due to CV then your chances would be still be a similarly small 0.5%. (Ok, that's only approximately true but I'm going to avoid detailing all the math as it would lead to yet another very long post that I have a habit of writing. :P)
